• Responsible for the entire Pitzer campus including all dorm buildings that were located throughout the campus. This
responsibility included but not limited to the following areas; Central Plant / HVAC chilled water systems, Ice system
(Energy Management System)(Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls) this system ran during the night and was used till
mid morning to provide efficient cooling for all of the class rooms, all equipment related to plumbing (this included all
irrigation systems), fire alarm systems, dorm buildings, cafeteria and faculty buildings. Maintained all campus
structures inside and out to a high standard. Providing new paint and repair roofing as required.
• Supervised 4 multi craft mechanics/electricians. Coordinated with all of other maintenance departments to insure
cohesive collaboration for all projects.
• Remodel classroom and dorm rooms as required. This process sometime required getting a conceptual drawing,
finalize drawings, write complete specifications for entire project and send out for RFQ to qualified sub contractors.
Manage project from start through completion.

Facilities Maintenance Manager
• Responsible for the entire maintenance operation of a 620,000 sq ft facility and a $1.5 million annual budget. The
facility is a Litho Graph Printing facility. This was 24/5 work schedule.
• Supervised 6 multi craft mechanics/electricians and one maintenance coordinator.
• On call as needed to interface with outside consultants, contractors and vendors. Assist with troubleshooting of all
electrical and mechanical equipment. Troubleshooting included the following but not limited to, all conveyors systems,
lighting controls, Fire and access systems, low TDS water systems, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic
systems, PLC related issues. All of the systems were involved in some way with the overall process. We maintained
two 4 & 6 color high speed lithograph printing machines, Asitrade inline corrugating W/ inline laminator lines,
(BOBST) box cutting machines, hot and cold glue lines and automated wrapping machines. All equipment was either
German or Swiss manufacturing.
• Collaborated with other departments to plan all maintenance down day projects.
• Ability to anticipate or even adapt to changes in scheduling of equipment repair plans or even day to day
operations.
• Maintained parts warehouse with accountability and accuracy exceeding 95% or better. Initiated and created
warehouse from scratch, as well as a database for warehouse within the MP2 system. Maintained all PM (preventative
maintenance) requisitions, created purchase and work orders in the MP2 system. This was the type of CMMS
(computerized maintenance management system) that was implemented. This data base system and warehouse was
developed from a large unorganized pile of mislabeled parts and equipment. Every item had to hand sorted and bar
coded for identification.
• Responsible for creating new and performing all required preventative maintenance programs on all equipment. Electrical
and Mechanical.
• Responsible for accurately defining the RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis) for any or all equipment breakdowns. Strategize
solutions to improve equipment efficiency.
• Acting member of the Plant Safety Committee. Insure that all LOTO (lock out, tag out) procedures are followed
and adhered to. Safety was the number one priority. Everyone went home to their families each and every day.
• Worked with outside agencies (AQMD, RCWD) to ensure that we maintained our facility to meet or exceed their
standards for water discharge or air quality standards.

General Foreman Facilities Maintenance
Supervised the entire maintenance operation of the Melt Shop and Roll Mill for 7 years consisting of 24 employees as well
as 4 front line foremen’s. Provided mentoring for all employees to promote safety training and system efficiencies growth.
Specializing in electrical and mechanical issues as well as any major projects. These facilities operated 24 hour, 7 days a
week. Responsible for 4 rotating shifts.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative by implementing a new low flame automatic torch system that cut oxygen and
natural gas costs by close to $100,000.00 a year. System is still in use today.
Ability to influence and achieve results; Motivated team to set record for lowest down time percentage for the year of 2.6%
for electrical and mechanical. Achieved world class down time.
Demonstrated ethics, influence, and negotiation; Designed new attendance policy with company and union that is

ton 250 volt DC hot metal ladle cranes, shaker style baghouse evacuation system which is powered by 2 1,500 H.P. motors.
Concast continuous high speed caster, numerous high volume water delivery systems, maintain soft water systems (low
TDS) for high speed caster, Fuji 18 stand twist mill, new reliance DC drive systems for all mill motors from 300 to 900 H.P.,
walking beam re heat automated furnace, high speed exit conveyors and fully automated bundling station. air compressors
(Sul Air, Gardner Denver), all hydraulic system related to all equipment throughout the shop.
This facility was a zero discharge facility. Water was recycled and treated to keep conductivity to a minimum.

During that time, I was a vendor to Tamco and Mark was the Electrical and Maintenance Foreman. We worked closely
on many projects together and I interacted with Mark on a weekly basis.

Mark Smith worked at the Tamco Steel Plant in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. for a number of years. He was hired at the steel mill in
the late 1980’s and worked as a journeymen class “A” electrician. He always performed his job above and beyond the required or
expected job requirements.
In the mid 1990 Mark left to start his owned electrical contracting business, but latter returned to Tamco Steel in 1998. He was
rehired as the Maintenance shop General Supervisor; he was responsible for all daily and rotating shift maintenance for electrical
and mechanical.
All at Tamco found Mark to be very knowable in the field of industrial machinery maintenance. Mark was a good supervisor
worked well with all and a good team player. Mark displayed good technical skills in electrical, mechanical, supervisory, problem
