The Senior Legal Officer (SLO), Billing and Reimbursement Compliance, Institutional Compliance Office
is part of the Institutional Compliance Office. The SLO will supervise a staff of 14 consisting of billing and
reimbursement compliance managers, project managers, analysts, and compliance assistants while
providing the strategic vision for billing and reimbursement compliance throughout the organization. To
that end, the SLO will: (a) serve as the in-house legal and regulatory expert on hospital, professional and
clinical research billing compliance issues; (b) facilitate the Executive Billing Compliance Committee and
the Clinical Research Billing Compliance Subcommittee; (c) conduct and oversee all billing compliance
auditing, monitoring, outreach, and education; (d) develop or assist with the development of policies and
procedures related to billing compliance matters; and (e) lead all compliance investigations and corrective
action related to billing matters.
The SLO position will also assist the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Compliance Officer with
