Created a Tool in salesforce, similar to Email To Case functionality. This
functionality allows users to respond to standard emails that arrive in
their email client and update a Custom/Standard Object Simply by replying
to the email. The email itself is then routed back to Salesforce where the
email message is placed on the Object.
Multi-Design Interface for any SObject App
A customize display screen and button that would let user select fields and
order (just like for a custom list view) in a separate popup window that
you could leave open so you could change things at any time. It would have
an "apply" button that would update the calling summary page with the
current selection and a "save" button that would update the display like
"apply" but also write the choices back to a table so the next time the
user came to this page they would see the display from their last saved
choices.
