Project Engineer/Mechanical Engineer
Worked on a Primary Gyratory Crusher Project & an Overland Crushed Fine Ore
Conveyor System for the FMI Morenci Site. Worked on material handling for
an Electrowinning for the Gruppo Mexico Cannanea Site. Currently on the
Flotation Circuit Additions for the Rio Tinto Kennecott Site in Salt Lake
City.
For the Morenci site acted as a project engineer fielding RFI and
delegating the answers for the correct disciplines for the 3rd Crusher
Project and the Southwest Leach MFL Feasibility Study. For the Gruppo
project generated specifications for the new ESDE III project, which
included the stripping machine, overhead cranes and other mechanical
process equipment. On the Kennecott project working on Equipment lists and
process equipment specifications.
Key Achievements:
? Saved our Morenci client well over $100,000 by relocating the Process
and Fire Water Pump Skid to a site that is closer to the main 4160V
substation added for the project, Coordinated all disciplines for the
design and tie ins to the Crusher Raw Water Pipe System.
? Produced well over 20% of the deliverables for the Cannanea Project
in half the time frame for the Gruppo client in order to get the
project moved to Mexico City scheduled for the beginning of April 2011
AB&I Foundry, Oakland, CA
March 2008 - June 2010
Project Engineer
Managed several small scale projects at the plant in the Cupola, Casting
and Finishing Departments.
Worked at all levels of installation on the following: baghouse/ductwork
installation for the launder fumes, installation of a cooling tower, and
process equipment modifications. Designed and installed safety guarding for
Wheelabrators, pipe casting machines, conveyor belts, core machines,
platforms and working areas, oscillators, Liquimetrics holding furnaces,
and numerous other equipment at the foundry. Utilized SAP for implementing
maintenance work orders.
Key Achievements:
? Disassembled a sand reclamation system from a recently closed foundry
in Southern California, which consisted of over

200 tons of processing equipment. Once operational the small plant
will recycle 100tons/day of molding sand which would otherwise be
disposed of and is estimated to save the company over $300,000/year.
? Designed and built a baghouse dust wetting system utilizing an
auger/mixer screw conveyor to take fluidized baghouse dust and turn
the difficult to transport dust into a sludge material and eliminating
any possibility of fugitive emissions during transport.
United States Pipe an Foundry Company, Union City, CA
September 2006 - February 2008
Plant Engineer and Reliability Coordinator
Provided engineering and maintenance support throughout the plant by
providing risk assessment, design development, construction and internal
client follow through. Projects ranged from $1500 to over $500,000.
Compiled all data from across the plant in order to come up with a capital
budget plan for FY2008. Assisted in the development of safety and
environmental awareness to help obtain excellent safety audit scores and
USD awards for two consecutive years.
Key Achievements:
? Created GA drawings for the installation of 6000-gallon Nitrogen tank
and vaporizer, new charge area layout for Ohio Crane batch making,
cement hopper modification (50% downtime reduction), and a Quonset Hut
gasket storage facility.
? Planned, priced and directed over 15 projects, which totaled over
$1,400,000 during a two-week shutdown including a complicated PLC
project to reduce CO emissions by over 50%. Managed SAP modules for
ensuring contract payments, maintenance work orders, and Capital
Project Budget monitoring.
? Used MS Projects for two staff projects which were expected to
result in potential annual savings of over $235K/year.
? Drafted over $2M worth of Capital Projects, from complex annealing
oven control systems to 100 yard concrete slabs, and general removal
and replacement of equipment.

completion of large scale mining projects in the United States and

studies with clients constructing large mining facilities.

Kennecott Smelter Modernization project.
? Created over 100 loop diagrams and standard drawings with a senior
instrumentation engineer for the Rhone Poulenc Project utilizing
Intergraph Microstation software.

numerous options to the client for mining improvements.

Collected data for cost savings in operations, PM implementation, and
tested the efficiency of key mining equipment.
Assisted with engineering support in the maintenance department and worked
all over the Gold Quarry mine including the Roaster Area, Sulfuric Acid
Plant, Mill 2/5 Building, Bio-leach Test Facility, and the North & South
Leach Areas.
Key Achievements:
? Saved company approximately $10,000 /month in over burden costs by
monitoring lime silo pressures and offloading times for five day
periods with the aid of a Rustrak Data Logger and PIT.
? Started a vibration program with a Microlog Handheld for the Bioleach
Test Facility.
? Utilized plant help and acted as a Project Engineer for installing an
areation system for the Bio-leach test facility that included
installing perforated Hancor Surelok Piping with fans to promote bio-
survival in the leach pad.
