Accomplishments & Strengths:
- Proficient in many design and drafting software packages, most
recently the latest versions of Altium and SolidWorks.
- Recognized for my contributions to the organization through the ExCITE
program at Schilling Robotics.
- Created design standards and also standardized parts libraries for
three of my previous employers.
- Working independently and as part of a team, I am able to multi-task -
working on one project while another is being evaluated - making the
most efficient use of my time.
- I am detail oriented, creating work that is clear, concise and
comprehensive.
- I am adaptable and able to work with established tools of the trade
with little or no instruction.
- Experience with general computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook
and Excel.
Work History
4/12 to 5/15
FMC Technologies/Schilling Robotics
Davis, CA
- Designing multi-layer printed circuit boards using Altium. These
included everything from power supplies to high speed circuits
utilizing differential pair routing.
- Created and updated SolidWorks part and assembly models.
- Created and updated documentation for fabrication of all products -
PCBs, PCAs, mechanical parts and mechanical assemblies.
- Updated drawing formats to concur with company changes (e.g. the
inclusion of the FMC logo).
- Participated in company activities, most notably giving tours of the
facility to students and engineers as well as becoming an instructor
for the company's entry into the STOP Safety Training program
sponsored by Dow.
12/11 to 4/12
Altec, Inc.
Dixon, CA
- Aided Facilities Coordinator with planning and implementing Altec's
move to a new facility using AutoCAD. Laid out tool storage boards.
Designed engineering cubicle area.
10/10 to 6/11
Clark Pacific
West Sacramento, CA
Samples Technician
- Created concrete samples using various cements, aggregates and
colors to present to potential clients for approval.
- Maintained the "Sample Room," ensuring that all needed materials
were present and ready for use.
- Kept a file of all mix sheets for future reference, in alpha-numeric
order.
- Organized the display room, which held all past samples created.
Larger samples were organized by color type, smaller ones by job
number.
- Participated in creating and updating procedures for sample creation
and maintenance.
4/03 to 6/09
Digi International, Rabbit Semiconductor (formerly Z-World)
Davis, CA
Senior PCB Design Engineer
- Duties included designing double- and multi-layer printed circuit
boards using PCAD and Cadstar. These boards were in the form of
single-board computers for embedded systems and/or high power RF
frequency. Digi also is developing many products dealing in wireless
technology.
- Was in charge of post-processing: Created panel arrays using CAMtastic
and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD. Worked with Document Control
drawing release.
- Built and maintained parts libraries for both design systems. I
developed procedures to help ensure creation of a quality product in
a timely manner. Even complex layouts would be ready for review in
two days or less. And once approved, fabrication packages would be
ready in less than three hours, including panelization, Gerber
creation and documentation.
- As with most of my jobs as designer, I was very good at multi-tasking,
working two and sometimes three jobs simultaneously; being able to do
design work on one while another was being scrutinized.
- Coordinated with the project engineer not only to create a layout that
agrees with their vision, but also to put together presentations for
the department where input could be discussed regarding the
layout/design of a PCB.
- Coordinated with the PCB manufacturers, making sure that they had the
information they needed to create our product properly.
- Participated in the maintenance of our legacy products, creating
Engineering Change Orders and implementing same.
- Data regarding projects would be entered into Excel spreadsheet format
or into a Vantive page. I would enter input to these formats.
Education
Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Minnesota
Mechanical Drafting Certificate from Platt College for Drafting and Design
Completion Certificates for training in both Altium and SolidWorks
