• Responsible for the direct sourcing and contract negotiations of all chemical items purchased at Spectrum
Chemicals. Chemical items included but are not limited to raw chemical items, finished goods, active
pharmaceuticals (API’s), nutraceuticals, cosmetic and organic chemicals. This would include indentifying the
source, confirming specification/qualifications and overall costs. Results have shown a 43% increase in profitability.
Responsible for the contractual obligations of Spectrums foreign supply partners in both Asia, and Europe;

established quality objectives, external audits and parameters to qualify the new manufacturing supply partner.
Resulting strategies created new standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and the accessibility to a more robust
product line and a decrease utilizing chemical trader.
Responsible for the strategic global chemical sourcing, contract negotiations, procurement and product development

for all chemicals purchased and sourced for Spectrum Chemicals.
Responsibility included to analyze what and how much of a given chemical item to either source and or to allocate
•
resources to purchase material. Using an established matrix it can be determined over a 3 month, 6 month or a 12
month time frame just how much material is required and or how much material has been sold over the desired time
frame. This information is then utilized to strategically implement Spectrum's purchasing power and leverage its
negotiating prowess to achieve the best contract price desired for a given item. The results have shown a 43%
increase in profitability.
Responsible to forecast with our sales team to determine our projected raw material requirements for both seasonal
•
and yearly demands. Utilizing our KPI's to reduce lead times and maintain appropriate inventory levels to assure
they are met and are within operating budget. This has led to an increase of over 18% improvement in efficient
supply chain and operational management.
In analyzing Spectrum's/ Oracle MRP system, we use current open orders, current blanket/ customer release orders,

lead times and production scheduling to determine a minimum and maximum level in which each item, a certain
level must be kept on the shelf. The analysis has resulted in a 98% stocking level at all times.
Assist or lead in the contract review of Spectrum’s new international manufacturing partner agreements, set up new

suppliers, formulate discount structure, and inventory control matrix. This resulted in a well defined supply chain
channel and distribution outlet. Increasing the number of upper level products in stock to 98%, of current goal..
Assisted and or lead purchasing in procuring and identifying the required chemical items to purchases via Spectrum
•
Oracle based/ ERP system with the approved or identified suppliers. Approximately, $28 million in direct spending
in acquiring goods and services.
Responsible for the bulk sales quotation of goods and services to our proposed clients. Analyzing competitive
•
environment, quality assurance measures and production capabilities in meeting objectives. Bulk sales as a whole
account for approximately $45 million in total sales.
Responsible for the direct chemical product development, which included identifying what new or specific raw
•
chemical item would be needed by our Quality Control and Production laboratory to successfully develop a specific
product for Spectrum customers. Working directly with our clients to aid in streamlining their production
capabilities by tailoring specific raw chemical items to meet their specific projects and goals. Including but not
limited to specification, manufacturing, packaging and labeling.

New SOP’s created new identified manufacturing partners that lead to a 40% increase in profitability. This success

allowed for greater control of Spectrum's total quality management guidelines geared towards a broader engagement
approach in Spectrum’s Bulk and purchasing departmental goals.
Assisted in the development of a quality vendor rating and performance matrixes aimed at continuous quality
•
improvements; resulting in a 25% increase in approved international manufacturing partners following strict ISO
and or GMP/ FDA guidelines and quality requirements. Improving vendor relations and increasing the number of
Active Pharmaceuticals Ingredients, Nutraceuticals/ Cosmetics and Organic Chemicals approved suppliers.
Chemical Sourcing Agent 1997 2002
• Responsible for the direct sourcing of all chemical items purchased at Spectrum Chemicals. Chemical items
included but are not limited to raw chemical items, finished goods, active pharmaceuticals (API’s), nutraceuticals,
cosmetic and organic chemicals. This included sourcing products from producers both foreign and domestic,
Europe, Asia and US.
• Analyzed market trends and proposed strategic marketing recommendations to senior management on what new
products or chemicals to add into our product line and/ or to focus our new product position in the market place; this
resulted in a 28% increase in market share by capturing additional customers and target segments.
Lead and helped managed Spectrum’s operational transition and creation between the Linux system to its new

Oracle operation and ERP system. This effort resulted in a smooth and seamless transition between the two systems
and overall 18% more efficient supply chain and operational management.
