1) “Design of Adders using an Optimized Full adder”

Tool Used: Cadence Virtuoso

Description:

In most of the digital systems, adders are the fundamental co mponents in the

design. In this project 1-bit Full Adder circuit is implemented for 9 different Boolean

expressions and performance of 1-bit Full Adder for 9 cases is analyzed in terms of

transistor count, delay and power dissipation using Cadence Virtuoso 180nm technology.

From this analysis an optimized Full Adder is selected and it is used to implement the

existing adder topologies like16 -bit Carry Ripple adder, 16-bit Carry Save Adder, 16-bit

carry Select Adder and their performances are analyzed.

2) “Design of Smart Device for Optimal Use of Stored Renewable Power”

Description:

One of the major challenges faced by Indian power grid system is the excess use of

energy and that results in the imbalance in the power generated and power consumed. So a

Smart Control device is implemented to make the optimal use of power. There are two

aspects in this project. One is charging the battery either by solar panel or by AC supply.

Another aspect is giving priority to the devices which are to be switched on .From the

charge stored in the battery we can turn on the devices like fan, bulb etc. By connecting

laptop or PC one can give priority to the devices to be switched on.
