Profile.
Experienced and organised Process/Manufacturing/Maintenance
Engineer/Manager in the World Class Manufacture of electronic Hi-Tec goods,
specializing in communication cables and connectors. Has experience in
factories that have gone through culture changes to enable Continuous
Improvement and TPM. Recently involved heavily within LEANPD philosophies
in my current role, working on a project going through the gate phases of
LEAN to enable design, development and manufacture of components to the
business requirements.
Currently in an engineering role, but would like to go back Maintenance
Management where I had 4 successful years reducing maintenance downtimes,
budgets and successfully opening up a second manufacturing unit within that
business. Time served apprentice in multi skilled Maintenance techiniques,
I was brought up in my career using TPM heavily and working with production
teams to enable improvements and cost reductions.
In my role as a Maintenance Manager at AFL, was responsible for numerous
Health and Safety protocols associated with Maintenance - Electrical
Safety, Work at Height etc., but also had other Safety protocols such as
Confined Space and Environmental.
Man managed 6 in house maintenance personnel and up to 20+ contractors. In
a shut down period was responsible for over 30 Maintenance people on site
at one time, on a yearly basis, which would be organized, efficient and
would achieve their targets in the tight timescales required by the
business.
Have always been involved with multi-functional teams on a production shop
floor environment, and thrives on new challenges and goals set. I was used
to this effect often in a culture change environment in my past couple of
roles as Maintenance Manager, Process Engineer and Quality Engineer.
