WORK EXPERIENCE

Dover India Private Limited, Bangalore, INDIA. Aug 2011 - June

2013

Associate Design Engineer.

Projects for Norriseal:

• Involved in Design, Development and Fluid flow Analysis of 2 inch, 6 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch Casting

Bodies of Globe Valves including the parts and its assemblies for using PTC Creo, Solidworks 2010 and

Solidedge ST4.

• Created 3D models and 2D Drawings for the parts and assemblies with Bill of Material as per the client

requirements.

• Complete redesign project of globe valves of 10 and 12 inch Casting models.

• Interacted with the vendors and customers to ensure the correct engineering design changes.

Projects for TWG:

• Produced 3D models and 2D drawings from the existing hand sketches and old drawings, using

Solidworks 2011.

• Supported seniors especially by creating drawings with Bill of Materials in the New Product Development

of Reeling Drum and the Level Winder for Cranes, using Solidworks 2011.

Projects for Barker (Specialty Division of Hillphoenix):

• Developed Production related drawings of different Display Case assemblies so that they conveyed

accurate information with the help of the tool Solid Edge ST3 & ST4.

• Worked on Configuration Projects, which involved keeping one configuration as a reference and building

3D models and assemblies of sheet metal parts along with maintaining and updating the library using of

Solid Edge ST4.

Projects for MAAG group:

• Assisted the New product development of an Underwater Plastic Palletizer which involved the

development of a new machine with a different concept. Used Solidworks 2011 as a platform to model the

new concepts.

TECHNICAL TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS

• Fundamental Training of CATIA V5R14 during the Undergrad Studies.

• Workshop on the Recent Advances in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning organized by the ISHRAE (Indian Society

for Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) Bangalore Chapter during the period August 2009.

• HVAC & R Fundamental Training held during June-July 2011 through ISHRAE Bangalore Chapter.

• Fundamental Training on Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD & T) and Computational Fluid Dynamics

(CFD) during my working Tenure at Dover India Private Limited.

• Underwent Essential DFMEA, 8D, Reliability and Six Sigma Green Belt training during my Master’s Degree.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Six Sigma Green Belt Project – Sticking of Glove Box to the Striker: Spring 2015

• Interpreted the provided data and did a Root Cause Analysis to find the reason for the sticking of Glove box.

• Used the DMAIC approach and performed a Gage R&R ANOVA test in order to find the Variance of data evaluated

by two different operators.

• Carried out Hypothesis test in order to find the variance between Good and Bad samples.

• Found out the best model approach using Regression Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE) and SPC techniques

and optimized the parameters required for the maximum force applied on the Glove box using Minitab Software.

• Deployed lean techniques and identified that Diameter of striker’s wire along with striker’s height from the base

were the main reasons for sticking of Glove Box.

Dynamic Response of an Airfoil – Computational Model and Discretization: Spring 2015

• Developed a basic computational design model of an airfoil for pitching and plunging motions using Matlab.

• Discretized the model with the help of ordinary differential equations at different nodes with respect to time to

analyze Displacement at the node for plunging and Angular displacement for pitching motions.

• Evaluated the Aerodynamic and structural forces exerted on Airfoil.

Relating Continuum Mechanics data and coding in Matlab: Fall 2014

• Gathered data such as deformation Gradient, Left and Right Cauchy Green Deformation.

• Solved for the deformation gradient, Eigen Values and Eigen Vectors, Lagrangian and Euler deformation tensors

with respect to time using the Matlab code.

• Plotted the shape of cube before and after deformation along with the depiction of Eigen Values and Eigen Vectors

to be visible in the plot using the Graphical Interpretation command of the Matlab code.

Finite Element Method Analysis: Fall 2014

• Objective of the project was perform FEA by introducing a Triangular Mesh and a Quad mesh on to a Simply

supported beam in Matlab as well as ANSYS.

• Involved in meshing with three different densities (Coarse, Fine and Very Fine) for both Triangular and Quad mesh.

The output of the code had displacement and the stress values at different nodes of the beam.

• Examined the meshing of beam using ANSYS in three different densities (Coarse, Fine and Very Fine) and solved

the given problem to get displacement and stress values. Also compared the results with Matlab values.

CAD Project - Ball Valve and Globe Valve Assembly with Fluid Simulation: Fall 2013

• Structured the design data required to create a handmade crude design of the Assembly as per ASME standards.

• 3D Models and Assembly of the two valves were made with the help of Solidworks 2011.

• Animation and Fluid Simulation was carried out to analyze the working of the Valves and also to study the flow in

different sections of the Valves.

Vision System for Packing Inspection: May 2011 at Federal Mogul Goetze INDIA Ltd, Bangalore, India

• Structured the data required for designing the framework of Inspection machine.

• Prepared the prototype of the Inspection Machine and tested the machine’s Accuracy for wide range of packing

inspections.
