Initially was hired as the Product Engineer for Microwave Fixed Link products.
Additional duties were assigned to include all Manufacturing Test Engineering, Product
Validation and System Test for Microwave radio products aimed at high quality video and
audio transmission applications including broadcast, military/government, and
sports/entertainment (COFDM, QAM, VSB, MPEG2, MPEG4, AES). Develop all test
stations, test fixtures, specialized hardware, ATE systems and software, test procedures,
and deploy to manufacturing. Provide technical/functional compliance validation for all
new products and introduce into manufacturing. Implement testing at board level
contract manufacturers. Provide troubleshooting support and data analysis for
manufacturing. Provide customer technical applications and troubleshooting support for
Sales, Installation, and Customer Technical Support functions.

Microwave Backhaul System Design & Implementation - FiberTower
Overall team leader and technical project manager for multi-customer microwave and
fiber based network deployments in New Jersey for cellular carrier backhaul/transport
needs. Responsibility and accountability for all in-market RF network design,
equipment engineering, site acquisition, financial results, budgets, deployment, and live
customer traffic cutovers.
Telecom Network Operations - Business Communications Services - Comcast
Responsible for 7x24 NOC, Service Delivery, Project & Order Mgmt, Service Provider
and Equipment Vendor Management for Commercial Customer and Internal Comcast
WAN, Internet, and Voice Services. Services managed included voice (local, LD, toll
free, PBX, ACD, Type 1,2,3), WAN (private line, Transparent LAN, GigE, ATM), and
Internet access. Vendors and equipment managed included Verizon, MCI, Level 3,
XO, AT&T, Cisco, Nortel, Alcatel, Fujitsu, Tellabs, and Marconi. Managed all new
equipment introduction and network acceptance, network surveillance and
maintenance, and customer technical support. Developed and implemented
Benchmark reporting and analysis to track network and service performance.
Telecom Network Implementation and Integration - Comcast
Managed the Program Management Office for the design, construction, integration, and
cutover of fiber based voice, and data networks and operational support
processes/tools for business customer telecommunication services in NJ, Eastern
Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Michigan. The PMO had cross functional
project responsibility for “go live” in each market, coordinating between engineering,
operations, field ops, legal/regulatory, sales/marketing, and finance.
Telecom Network Operations Planning and Network Performance – AT&T
Created and managed a national operations planning and network performance
function for a Business Communications Local Service Provider. Responsible for
National Power/Infrastructure maintenance, Network Reliability, National Projects
Implementation, and New Technology & Service Introductions into the Operations
Environment. Managed the power and infrastructure upgrade and on-going preventive
maintenance program for 350 network sites, which produced a major improvement in
reliability and 90% reduction in customer affecting outages. Managed all technology &
software upgrades across the Local Services Network in over 50 major markets.
Cellular Network Performance and Operations Planning – AT&T
Managed the Network Performance and Operations Planning program at ATT-WS for
Cellular Radio Systems in NJ, NYC, Boston, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington,
DC. Switch & radio channel trunk planning resulted in significant improvement in
network congestion and dropped call performance. Implemented standards and
compliance for installation/acceptance, preventive maintenance, performance reporting,
capacity planning, alarm handling, and change control, resulting in improved network
reliability and reduction in plant operating errors.
Fixed Wireless System Design, Implementation & Integration – AT&T
Managed the RF Engineering and Network Implementation functions for Fixed Wireless
system deployment in NJ, Boston, and NYC. Responsibility included RF design, site
qualification, site acquisition, zoning, construction, and installation/turn-up.
Wireless/Mobility Systems Development and Integration – AT&T / Lucent
Managed teams responsible for service development, telecom systems engineering,
and FOA introduction for Personal Communications Services (PCS), mobility services,
and audio information services. Program managed AT&T technology trials, supported
PCS standards activities, led the TIA/T1- Joint Technical Committee Boulder field test of
1900Mhz IS-136 technology for PCS. Defined and received patents (awarded in 1998)
for cellular and PCS “Intelligent Roaming” techniques which became the industry
standards for TDMA systems. Deployed telecom network based public fax, audio
information, personal number, and advanced messaging services.
Wireless Products Design Engineering - Lucent
Managed team responsible for Cellular Phone and Wireless Terminal design and
development as well as OEM product support for Cellular Mobile units for AT&T.
Additional responsibilities included wireless consumer and small business new product
development including advanced business cordless phones.
Microwave Design Engineering - Lucent
Design engineer and team leader for microwave/RF component and subsystem design
for microwave radio transmission equipment. Designs included GaAsFET power
amplifiers, mixers, LNAs, receivers, filters, and oscillators. Provided significant
manufacturing and field support for products. Functioned as lead systems engineer for
a microwave transmission system supplied to the FAA for carrying voice and radar
signals.
