RELEVANT PROJECTS & EMPLOYMENT
Analysis of the Ferromagnetic Granular System, Rutgers University 06/2014-Present
Conducted thorough literature reviews and background studies on the research topic. Analyzed the dynamic behavior of the
system and built the one-dimension model mathematically.
Derived the wave equations including Hertz contact and long-range interaction part in two different methods. Successfully
solved the PDE analytically by using perturbation theory. Both the equations and solutions are in elegant and concise forms.
Simulated the system by coding in MATLAB. Obtained numerical results in reasonable agreement with theoretical solutions.
Designed and set up experiments to demonstrate the theoretical results. Summarized the results and finished the thesis.
Design of Deformable Fixed Wing Model Aircraft, Northeastern University 03/2012-06/2012
Proposed the innovative structure of the humanoid deformable model aircraft after investigating substantial amount of
general and abnormal shape model aircraft. Determined the model grade and sketch the prototype.
Led the team to design the 3D model in SolidWorks, analyzed the stresses distribution in ANSYS and optimized the design.
Two detailed schemes have been established before the project examination.
Built and tested the sample model, made the corresponding improvements in view of the test results.
Led the team to make sure that all work could be allocated properly and also encouraged and supervised the teammates to
fulfill the goal before deadline. Prepared and gave the presentation.
Manufacturing Engineer Intern, Shenyang Blower Works Group, Shenyang, China 07/2012-09/2012
Brought into contact with the design and manufacturing processes of blower, ventilator, compressor and pump.
Engaged in the machining process of edge trimmer . Proposed the method of enhancing the stability and quality of spare parts
being processed by making a circle groove in the rotary cutter. The FPY of the product has been improved by twenty percent
and the lifespan of the cutter has been doubled. Commended by supervisor.
Received training on CNC machines. Exercised the ability to read and interpret engineering prints and specifications.
Mechanical Engineer Intern, XJ Group Corporation, State Grid, Xuchang, China 02/2012-04/2012
Gained hands on experience with the method of DFSS (design for six sigma).
Took responsibility in the analysis of crossed helical gears contact path by using MATLAB, built the 3D contact model of
crossed helical gears, simulated the contact path based on different basic parameter types. Co-author of published paper.
AWARDS & ACTIVITIES
Outstanding Student Award at Northeastern University.
Serving as event coordinator at student council, Northeastern University. Successfully organized several thematic activities.
Working as a proctor in the office of disability services, Rutgers University.
