Title: Protecting Contracts against Inflation through price variation

formula

Objectives

. Protecting company from the effects of floating rates of currency in the

spot markets

. To use a correlation factor to avoid the effect of exchange rates on the

contract price

. Search for price variation formulas used by manufacturing companies

worldwide, analyze them, and suggest ways to protect the companies from

price rise of commodities

Conclusions

. In the short run these formulas may not reflect actual impact due to

timing issue and hence should be avoided

. In the long term the price of various materials could be highly volatile

and as such difficult to predict

. To come over the uncertainty, inclusion of Price Variation clauses in the

contracts is better way of minimizing the risk

Objectives/Methodology

. Study six cases of M&A involving both domestic and cross border deals and

determine if there is any effect of M&A activity on the stock prices of

firms involved

. Measure the amount of abnormal returns, if any

Conclusions

. The results from the T-tests conducted on the stock prices of the

companies involved in the deal that there was an effect on the stock

prices.

. There were abnormal returns involved both positive as well as negative
