. Proficient with a broad spectrum of materials: metals, ceramics,
composites, coating, powder, nanopowders, ceramic-matrix composite.
. Highly experienced in materials selection, failure analysis,
properties testing such as particle size analysis, hardness testing,
mechanical properties testing, analytic chemistry, macro- and
microstruture characterization by using OM, SEM, BET, XRD, TGA, DSC,
SIMS, FTIR. Sample preparation and interpretation. Knowledge of ASTM
standards in material testing.
. Thorough knowledge of metallurgical and ceramics processes: including
such as ceramic powder processing (mixing, milling, surface treatment
and dispersion), drying, pressure (including uniaxial press and hot
isostatic press), slurry preparation, tape casting, screen printing
and firing (like hot pressure sintering and spark plasma sintering)),
and ceramographic techniques (polishing, etching, imaging).
. Deep understanding of solid state physics, physical chemistry,
inorganic chemistry and basic understanding organic chemistry.
. Hand-on experience of thick film processing (ink and tape preparation,
three-roll milling, viscosity measurement, tape casting, screen
printing, firing). low temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) processing
(laser punching, lamination, and cofiring). Especially, on the silver
ink and silver thick film tape preparation by tape casting.
Experiences of solar cell conductive paste preparation (silver based
paste and formulation).
. Deep knowledge and practice of nano materials preparation (sol-gel,
wet chemical, high-energy milling, CVD, PECVD etc.), characterization
(mechanical, chemical, physical), and modification (chemical and
physical based).
. Rich knowledge of rheology related to particle system (viscosity and
zeta potential), mixing torque rhometry (MTR), extrusion (Benbow
Analysis, Bagley correction and Mooney analysis).
. Ample electrochemistry background and test practice (cyclic
voltammetry, potentiodynamic, potentiostatic, potential resistance
etc.).
. Deeply understanding low temperature fuel cell (Direct methanol fuel
cell, direct ethanol fuel cell, catalyst synthesis and
characterization, bipolar material choice, electrode evaluation, cell
performance characterization).
