Derry, NH

Kathleen Peterson

Objective In the past I have worked as part of an

administrative staff and have been responsible for

a variety of clerical duties, imaging system,

receptionist, data entry of cash receipts and

optics. I have worked in retail and know how to

relate to the public in a courteous and friendly

manner. I am timely, reliable and can contribute as

a team player. I work well with very little

supervision and have the ability to learn anything

quickly.

Experience

9/2013-12/2013 Hillside Estates

Derry, NH

Office Administrator

A temporary position as the office administrator

for Hillside Estates. They needed someone for a few

months while they were looking for a permanent

person. The position entailed answered phones,

scheduled appointments for sub-contractors, data

entry; excel work, website work and general filing

and other office responsibilities. I could not

apply for the position there as it was a conflict

of interest as my husband is on the board of

directors of the home association.

4/2008-5/2014 Athena's by Kathleen

Derry, NH

Athena's Home Novelties

Owner of a home party business. This required

excellent customer service and dealing with

anything that might arise, from replacement of an

item to confidential discussions with the

customers. It was my own business, so I was

responsible for all computer work, sale, accounts

receivable and accounts payable..

8/2004-1/2010 Walmart Derry, NH

Department Manager

The position was for a cashier and after a few

months was moved to the position of sales floor

associate. I applied and was given the position of

department manager. This all happened within a year

and a half of my hiring date. I received the

appointment to head of the safety team for the

store and was also PSP Captain. PSP has to do with

personal sustainability program or your carbon

footprint and how the store could reduce it.

9/2002-8/2004 Pioneer Appraisal Derry, NH

Office Administrator

Answering phones, scheduling of appraisals

appointments, data entry, accounts payable and

receivables. I took care of the day to day running

of the office.

1/2000-9/2002 Seaboard International Forest

Products Nashua, NH

Receptionist/Data Entry

Seaboard was a very quick paced business and relies

on the receptionist to get calls to brokers quickly

and efficiently. The position was for a part time

receptionist and data entry person. I was promoted

to full time receptionist later that year and

handled a multi line system with voice mail. It was

not unusual for the company to receive 600 to 1200

calls a day. I was then promoted to administrative

staff and worked as data entry, optics, imaging,

and alternate receptionist and back up personal for

accounts payable.

6/1999-10/1999 Andover Personal/Lakeside

Insurance Salem, NH

Receptionist/Secretary

The position was for Lakeside Insurance Agency as a

temporary employee through a temp agency. The

duties were receptionist, secretary, data entry,

greeting of customer, clients and business

associates. They, also, included the handling of

the mail and

confidentiality was a must due to the nature of the

business.

Education

I graduated from Alvirne High School in 1975 and

have had many life experiences that go beyond the

scope of the traditional education.

Summary When I took on the job of Department manager at

Walmart there was a surplus of older merchandise in

the back room. In three months I had the amount

down to half the amount and in six months had it

down to one third of that. I did this through

creative merchandizing and displays. Then as

Captain of the Safety team, accidents were reduced

due to the implementation of company programs and

there was a reduction in our carbon footprint by

using some local recycling facilities. A fire and

police safety annual safety day was also

implemented for the public to attend thanks to the

negotiations with the police and fire departments

in town.

I owned two businesses. The first one for 4 years

in the antiques and collectibles business, closing

that business due to finding a full time job and

the fact it was no longer profitable to run that

business as the market was flooded with the type of

items I sold. The second was a home party business

for 6 years. I received awards for being 14th and

then 20th in sales nation wide.

I am a hard worker and learn fast. I believe I

would be a great asset to your company.
