Eric was responsible for managing this project starting
from design phase through its bid and award and
construction phases. Eric's responsibilities included
coordinating and participating in constructability reviews,
preparing bid package, preparing front-end documents and
addenda, and preparing the phasing plan. In the
construction phase of the project, Eric was responsible for
daily contract administration, reviewing and responding to
administrative submittals and RFI's, coordinating with the
design-engineer to respond to the technical submittals and
RFI's, coordinating with the design engineer and the
contractor, coordinating with the permitting agencies,
processing contractor's requests for payment, preparing
fair cost estimates for change orders, and participate in
change order negotiation. His duties also included
preparing change orders and their supporting documents,
investigating and resolving field unforeseen issues,
preparing as-built drawings, and all other contract
administrative work.
MLK Hospital ICU Renovation Project, Los Angeles, CA
Project Engineer, Jan 2014 - Nov 2014, $50M
As the Project Engineer, Eric assisted the Project Manager
with managing the construction of an ICU unit in MLK
Hospital. His responsibilities included reviewing
contractor's Change Order Proposals (COPs) for merit,
identifying exactly what has changed from the original
contract document as well as the time/cost impact of the
change, preparing fair cost estimate, negotiating change
orders, and documenting record of negotiations/
justification for the change. Eric also ensured the
completeness of contractor's submittals prior to submitting
them to the Architect, reviewed contractors monthly
schedule updates and fragnet schedules, and prepared
meeting minutes.
Los Angeles Community College District Building Program,
Los Angeles, CA
Project Engineer, July 2013 - Jan 2014, $250M
Eric served as Project Engineer at East LA College for
LACCD. He coordinated the scope of work with the Architect,
prepared extra service agreements for the architect,
interviewed new A/E firms to take over the project,
evaluated contractor's proposal, and oversaw the
construction with the inspection of records. His work
included field identification of non-compliance items,
preparing the scope of change order work and issuing
directive to the contractor for the remedy, and coordinated
with the inspector for inspection and approval of the
repaired work. Eric managed all daily construction
activities associated with the construction such as
processing RFC's and submittals, reviewing contractor's and
architect's requests for payments, and reviewing
contractor's weekly and monthly schedule updates. He also
reviewed change orders to ensure they comply with DSA
standards prior to their submission to DSA for final
approval.
City of El Monte Sanitary Sewer Improvement Plan, El Monte,
CA
Field Engineer May 2013 - July 2013, $10M
Eric served as Field Engineer assisting a general
contractor in a wide range of issues related to
construction of residential homes. In this role, he
obtained permits, performed construction site surveys,
prepared quantity take-offs and associated cost estimates.
Eric also processed submittals and shop drawings, prepared
request for information (RFI), evaluated the responses to
the RFI's, ordered materials and field equipment, prepared
as-built record drawings, processed requests for change
orders, and coordinated with the clients as well as
subcontractors.
CDBG ADA Ramp & Sidewalk Improvement Project, Monte, CA
Field Engineer, March 2013 - May 2013, $850K
Eric's responsibilities for this project included
resolution of field issues, assisting in preparation of
project baseline schedule, monitoring field progress
compared to the baseline schedule, and assisting in
ordering material. He also performed construction site
surveys, prepared quantity take-offs for change orders,
called suppliers to get pricing, communicated with the
design architect to get responses to RFI's, and prepared as-
built record drawings. Eric reviewed the pre-design,
design, and bid & award documents for completeness.
El Monte Gregg's Industries Facility Demolition, El Monte,
CA
Project Engineer, Jan 2013 - March 2013, $200K
Eric served as Project Engineer for the El Monte Demolition
Project. In this role, he was responsible for preparing and
processing change orders, processed RFIs and submittals,
preparing meeting minutes, and document control. He also
prepared project schedules using primavera P6 for utilities
work to coordinate with other ongoing construction work,
performed field measurements for the completed scope of
work, prepared daily field reports, prepared weekly and
monthly progress status reports., developed alternative
solutions to resolve unforeseen site conditions, and
monitored field activities.
El Monte Gibson Mariposa Park Project, El Monte, CA
Project Engineer, March 2010 - Dec 2012, $560K
Eric assisted the Project Manager during design and
construction of Gibson Mariposa Park Project. In this role,
he assisted in preparation and execution of project work
plans, identified resources to complete the assignments,
and performed quantity take-offs. He also supervised
laborers and sub-contractors, maintained an effective
construction safety and security program, and assisted the
Project Manager in managing project budget. He was also
responsible for coordinating with the design engineer and
the contractor, coordinating with permitting agencies,
