As a Senior PLM Technical Consultant and Technical Project Manager I have had the privilege of wearing many hats

on CAD/PDM/PLM projects in last 14+ years of my career ranging from architect, implementer, project manager,

business analyst, Advanced Software Engineer, Mentor, System Administrator, etc. I enjoy contributing and working

Professional Experience

Sr PLM Technical Consultant L&T Technology Services Jan’15 – Till date

Client: Whirlpool, St Joseph MI

Develop, Manage and execute Project Plans. Identify and track critical paths and Risk Management.

Act as barrier between business and technical teams, communicate and help smooth execution of project.

Plan out daily, weekly and monthly rehearsal and production migration activities for the Migration team.

Debug and enhance java code in Eclipse to identify and fix issues and add support for region specific logic.

Write SQL queries against test and production legacy databases to obtain and verify necessary information.

Present migration findings to the business team. Investigate and resolve any issues with them.

Project#1: PSM Migration

Identified and collected enterprise parts info from legacy systems and business teams.

Migrated and created enterprise parts from legacy system to target Windchill 10.0 using ootb loaders for various

different plants in different regions across US, Asia and Europe.

Project#2: BOM Migration

Carried out initial study and analyzed overall scope of work involved in migrating BOM from SAP to Windchill system.

Investigated issues with regards to migrating expired BOMs, Alternate BOMs and came up with a potential solution.

Application Engineer TriStar Inc(Phoenix, AZ) Feb’11 – Jan’15

Role: Windchill Implementation Engineer

Creating SOW capturing customer requirements & detailed solution with hardware and software specifications.

Analyze customer requirements, map solutions and design overall implementation to achieve business value.

Setup appropriate visualization and publishing using the CAD worker mechanism.

Carryout Performance tuning for the client system environment using wca.

Project#1: Windchill Upgrade

Clients: Backer, Medela, Novatel

Understand customer requirements and source environments. Performed rehearsal and production upgrade from

PDMLink 8.0/9.0/9.1 to Windchill 10/10.1/10.2 and upgraded corresponding Oracle and SQL Server databases as per

the PTC compatibility matrix.

Project#2: Intralink to Windchill migration

Clients: Urban Machinery, Baxter, Eltek, Meadwestvaco, L 3, GrandRapidsControls

Customer was at an old Intralink 3.1 version. A complete migration roadmap to Windchill was planned for them.

System level mapping was done to map their folders, users, lifecycles, object version, iterations from Intralink to

Windchill. A new Windchill 10 solution was designed and a migration was carried out using a migration clone system.

Visualization and publishing of viewables was configured and the system was tuned for optimal performance.

2 Intralink 3.4 databases were migrated to a common target Intralink10 system.

Project#3: Oracle to SQL Server migration

Windchill10.1 with Oracle 11GR2 was migrated to SQL Server 2008R2.

Project#4: Windchill 10.1 implementation

A new Windchill 10 solution was designed based on the system captures from their old 9.1 system.

A 2 tier system was installed on the client servers, windchill business configurations including creation of products,

library, templates, users, groups, roles, lifecycles, attributes was done.

Mentored their system administrator to carryout backups of oracle dumps and file vaults.

Project#4: Windchill Rehost to new hardware and from single tier to multi tier

Current Windchill 9.1/10.1 systems were rehosted onto new host server machines to create Development system for

them to carry out any development and testing related work.

Project#5: Windchill Replication

A replication site was created for their china and Boston branches from their existing 9.1/10 Windchill system.

Project#6: Windchill maintenance update

PDMlink 9.1 M030 /10 environments were updated to 9.1 M060/10.1 M020 on the existing w2003/w2008r2 hardware

systems. Then a rehost was done on to a newer 64 bit w2008r2 hardware systems along with upgrading oracle from

10 to 11gr2 in a 2 tier windchill environment.

Project#7: Active Directory Integration

Windchill was integrated with multiple corporate Active Directories using the necessary JNDI Adapter configurations.

Project#8: SSL setup for Windchill

Oceanworks wanted to configure Windchill with SSL setup in order to add on extra layers of security for Windchill.

We obtained SSL certificates from Thawte and Apache, Windchill and Cognos were configured with HTTPS.

Engineering IT Account Manager Stryker Medical (Kalamazoo, MI) Oct’08 – Feb’11

Role: Global Engineering System manager, PDM Systems Analyst

Global MCAD PDM deployment & administration: ProE Intralink, SolidWorks WorkgroupPDM, SolidEdge Insight.

Perform system backups and upgrades for various CAD PDM and SCM software for all global branch offices.

License purchase and management for Hyperworks, Ansys, Perforce and other engineering applications.

Acted as a consultant to internal customers to provide direction & project management to new initiatives/projects.

ProE/Intralink 3.4 Upgrade

ProE/Intralink system was upgraded to 3.4 M062 and WF4 versions and rolled out to all the user community globally.

The File Vaults/Server, Data Server, shared Pro/Intralink client were migrated to new server for Win32/x64 platforms.

SolidWorks Workgroup PDM implementation

Implemented a WorkPDM solution for our Furniture team in order to have revision control, security and searching

capabilities. Built the Vault & performed Data analysis/migration to the PDM system & established best practices.

Perforce system Upgrade

Perforce SCM system was upgraded from v2005 to v2009.1. The perforce database was migrated from the physical

win 2003 server to a VMware win 2008 server. The daily checkpoint/backups/notifications were enabled successfully.

Advanced Software Engineer Siemens PLM Software(St Louis, MO) Sept’03 – Sept’08

Major Responsibilities:

Creating Requirement/Design/Functional/Test Specification document and get the product/dev manager approval.

Creating and modifying the kit bom xml file in order to resolve build & product integration issues during ip build.

Bug fixing across all product versions. Submitting Delta, Patch request forms and getting them approved.

Code Reviews, code submission to Perforce after validating dev regression suite on win/unix platforms.

Maintaining code base & Help documents for products ugtopv and ugtojt across different NX versions.

Refactoring the code, use generic functions/templates, insert appropriate comments and regular code clean up.

Porting translator to MAC and Linux64 platforms. Promotion & bugs handling with PK memory & Parasolid API.

Key Projects:

Java GUI for JT Bi Directional translator for CATIA V5

It was designed and developed to enhance the customer’s run time experience by enabling them to control around 20

configuration parameters and invoking the catiaV5 to JT translation in various modes inside an attractive GUI

embedded within CATIA V5 by creating a customized JT toolbar having various icons. It was developed using JDK1.5,

Java Swing, UML and NetBeans5.5.1 IDE. Already existing functionality in C++ application was invoked from the JAR

files using JNI. All the users at the current customer site started using this dormant functionality as it was now

available to trigger it via the GUI mode as opposed to just the previous batch mode. It also helped in attracting newer

customer base for this entire software product.

Automation of build process using Ant

A well defined build process was necessary to ensure that the software in the development project was integrated in

our daily IP builds using UDU and is executed using the ant based xml scripts.

Enabling Motion in Teamcenter Engineering

The goal of the above project was to provide an integrated solution for the VFM files creation using NGID strategy in

order to better manage & replay them in Teamcenter in a robust manner. My module enabled incorporating the

appropriate NGID on JTK nodes and vaulting the motion related files VFM and PLMXML into Teamcenter vault.

Served as a Project lead in this cross functional and globally distributed team project. Achieved the goal for this project

by investigating the code for multiple modules and with multiple teams. Researched the escalated issues taking the full

responsibility and carrying out the root cause Analysis. Identified that it was a time zone specific issue caused due to

hard coded logic in the third party add on module which was integrated in our software product.

Redesign Translator Architecture

TTK APIs were investigated and enhanced using DTK APIs.

Unicode support for the translator

Enabled usage of the translator in the international market by adding Unicode support in our software.

BOM file creation

It was developed to enhance the overall robustness and performance of Translation Server. It was used by Translation

Server for mapping the results of its particular translation back to the source input assembly files.

Enabling Arrangements, VCP and flexible components

Advanced features in NX like Arrangements was supported on JTK side by treating every sub assembly having any of

above features as a distinct assembly rather than as an instance and by creating an extra jt file using STL multimaps.
