PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Schlumberger, Sugar Land, Texas
Electrical Engineer (Engineering, Manufacturing & Sustaining)
(Jan 2012 - Dec 2014)
Responsible for developing and executing test procedures to verify quality
of newly developed or consolidated software versions. Develop, integrate
and maintain Test Set-ups for the Coiled Tubing down-hole electronic tools
for the Engineering Team.
Managed the Electrical validation and Qualification testing of identified
components and sub-systems (temperature, shock / vibration testing - test
plan development, scheduling, fixture/instrumentation assembly, execution
of tests, writing / archiving reports).
. Extended test setups of Coiled Tubing tools testing to include all the
different combinations of the different tools (commercial, under
development or under field test) which increased test coverage and
promoted test completeness.
. Performed all qualification testing for newly developed versions of
acquisition software to ensure full functionality before being deployed
to the field.
. Developed test scripts that automated the software testing functions for
the released software versions using SmartBear TestComplete software.
. Identified errors of two of the Coiled Tubing down-hole electronic
platform measurements, and provided recommendations on how to solve them,
achieving goal for tool measurement specifications.
. Designed and built the prototype of a simulator of the Coiled Tubing
electronic measuring tools with a programmable controlled sensor
simulator circuitry that facilitated testing and debugging and saved
company $150,000 per test setup.
. Recommended modifications to Coiled tubing electronic perforating head
that corrected potential reliability issues with its circuit design.
Sustaining Group Electrical Engineer
(Jan 2011 - Jan 2012)
Provided support for manufacturing and field locations investigating
different service quality issues, analyzed these issues and designed and
implemented test setup as well as solutions.
. Represented team in Quality Steering Committee where all quality issues
were reviewed at a high level and proposed solutions to resolve them.
. Led team in the analysis of quality issues and recommendation of root
cause resolution and followed up to ensure proper closure.
. Completed two significant Lean Six Sigma projects reconfiguring the
Engineering Lab; resulted in increased lab capacity, efficiency, and
sustainability, achieving HCS WOW award for 2011 best Center LSS
projects.
. Improved Manufacturing Test and Acceptance Procedure of an Acquisition
module that increased the test accuracy, coverage as well as its
efficiency.
Schlumberger, Red Deer, Alberta Canada
2001 - Jan 2011
Electronics Technologist / Lab Supervisor - Wireline and Testing Segment
Lead the maintenance team to improve Service Quality, performed detailed
failure analysis and was responsible for quality and efficiency of
maintenance processes within the district.
. Conducted thorough investigations of failures, analyzed data, and
implemented corrective action plan that surpassed service quality goals.
. Contributed to the development and improvement of tools under field test,
solving reliability or combinability issues.
. Corrected and published global maintenance manual for surface equipment
used in the field, improving the service quality.
. Achieved first place rewards for technical knowledge sharing several
times through valuable contributions to the knowledge sharing database,
which helped other locations implement best practices, solutions and
technical alerts.
Schlumberger, Egypt, Syria and Turkey. 1985 - 2001
Instrument Engineer / Lab Supervisor - Wireline and Testing Segment
Planned, scheduled and supervised the activities of all assigned personnel
involved in preventative maintenance, repairing, and modifying all
electronic and electrical equipment.
. Originated several hardware modifications to the tools that improved
overall reliability.
. Provided orientation and training to newly hired field and instrument
engineers as well as field engineers.
. Improved Quality Checks as well as maintenance efficiency, which lead to
noticeable improved service quality and record field efficiency.
