Welder/fitter
Stewart and Stevenson - Odessa, TX - December 2013 to February 2015
Responsibilities
Stewart and Stevenson is the manufacturer of oil field maintenance and extraction equipment. Working from
complex blueprints following all AWS and API standards I am assigned to fit up and weld various structures
including 80 foot maintenance masts, pump jack towers and all ancillary attachments and equipment needed
for each assigned project. The main welding process used is FCAW dual shield with some GMAW and SMAW.
Metal cutting and trimming is done with plasma arc, carbon arc or torch. All welds are visually inspected, 20%
are MT inspected and all structural stress welds are UT inspected.
Welder II
General Dynamics Land Systems - El Paso, TX - June 2010 to December 2013
After successfully completing a five week training course and passing all weld and performance qualifications
I was assigned to the Stryker program battle damage repair facility at Doha, Qatar. My assigned duties were
to receive a battle damaged hull of a Stryker cut away using carbon arc all specified battle damaged areas
and or damaged armor plates (per engineers snag sheet) and personal inspection. Prepare all surfaces, refit
all armor weld mounts and weld using GMAW short arc and spray transfer at specified voltages, positions,
weld sizes and sequences. Lay out and reinstall all apertances and mounting pads to restore the hull to battle
readiness. Apply die penetrant to all welds and inspect for defects effect repairs after passing final inspection
transfer hull to mechanics for rebuild. Upon completing my contract with BDR facility I have been assigned to
the CLS team at Ft. Bliss Texas as brigade welder. My assigned duties are for repair and retrofit on all Brigade
Strykers. When not performing welding duties I assist with vehicle services i.e. pulling packs servicing packs
and needed vehicle inspections and systems parts replacements.
Certified Welder/Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Evaluate the scope of damages to (battle damage or other) to upper or lower armored hulls of military JERRVs
(joint E.O.D rapid response vehicles), Cougars and other similar armored vehicles. Determine the method
and welding procedures required for the repair and perform the needed repairs. Work off diagrams to install
modifications and upgrades as per specifications Design fabricate and install requested modifications to both
inside and outside of JERRV vehicles (i.e. storage racks, shelves, lockers, antennae mounts radio system
mounts).. As Senior Certified Welder I was responsible for training and oversight for JERRV program welders
in Iraq. My duties also encompassed maintaining and controlling welding supplies and materials for use and
distribution to other active sites.
Welder/fabricator/military trainer
Northrop Grumman - November 2007 to April 2008
Contractor to SANG {Saudi Arabian National Guard} in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
Work with SANG and Saudi nationals in Allied Trades Department at LTD. Duties include but were not limited
to, perform necessary repairs, fabrication and installation of ECP's {engineer change proposals} on a variety of
LAV military vehicles {light armored vehicles, manufactured by General Dynamics}. Design and fabricate tools
and specialized shop equipment particular to LAV modifications and repairs. Repair structural flaws and parts
fabrication on mobile artillery equipment {Howitzer 105's towed Vulcan air defense gun and Howitzer 155's}.
Use all allied trades shop equipment, hand tools, hydraulic shears, metal muncher and brake. SMAW, GMAW,
and GTAW welding applications applied. Assume duties and responsibilities of Allied Trades supervisor when
supervisor is unavailable or absent.

Perform maintenance welding, fabrication and repairs to include upgrades on military heavy wheel vehicles.
Types of vehicles included but were not limited too; M29 five ton trucks, LMTV's FMTV's and Hemmit wreckers
and fuel tankers.I was at the main compound in Bahgram for three months. In December I was sent to work
with an up armor team in Jalalabad. In addition to various welding duties required by AECOM and the Army I
also repaired and fabricated modifications for Man Tech on their various specialized heavy wheel equipment
[Buffalow, RG31 and Husky] When not working in my field I Installed frag 5 door kits, fire suppression kits, frag
one and two armor kits and the new motor operated gunner protection kits on M1114 and M1151 Hmmwv's.
Heavy Equipment Welder

Working under little or no supervision I can read and interpret code specifications, welder qualifications and
weld procedure specifications. I can inspect welds or structures for discontinuities, determine and affect the
proper repair procedures. I am experienced in most common welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW,
and GTAW) and have extensive experience in repair, installation and fabrication used in various aspects of
my field. I can estimate costs (labor and materials) determine and order materials needed, read and apply
technical diagrams or blueprints and draw rough diagrams. I have experience with most types of metal cutting
procedures such as oxy-acetylene, plasma arc and carbon arc.
