DURA is a $1.7B global automotive supplier of control systems, structural components and exterior trim to OEMs and Tier

1s comprised of 35 plants, 5 test centers and 12,500 employees. The 4 Strategic Objectives are to develop a high-

performing culture, achieve quality excellence, introduce disruptive product and process innovation, and to ensure long-

term profitable growth. My role as CQO was primarily to safeguard DURAs assets, customers and stakeholders by

minimizing quality and global supply chain risk. Our strategy was to improve quality through problem solving, problem

prevention and transforming the quality culture. Key accomplishments include

Reduce TCoQ trend by 50% and establishing an Annual Operating Plan for 2015 to reduce cost by $25M

Reduce customer Quality Rejects by 40% and improved the position for new business at 4 plants

advisory organizations. Managed distressed supply cases for Ford Motor Company in order to protect supply without

adversely affecting quality. Some projects were highly contentious at deeply troubled companies with multiple

stakeholders at global locations where bankruptcy, operational restructuring, transaction or facility consolidation was the

Powertrain Transmission Plant - Toledo, OH 1995-1998

Business Team Manager

Led quality and production of the transmission main case for the 4L60-E at the Toledo Transmission Plant, which ran

virtually 24/7 in order to supply most of GMs Rear Wheel Drive vehicles.

Launched 2-piece case transmission with a cross functional staff of 400+ employees, including UAW represented

workers who produced 7,300 transmissions per day.

Led staff reductions to 295 persons in a very difficult UAW environment. This improved profitability of the business unit

by 20% through productivity, safety and quality improvements.

Powertrain Transmission Plant - Strasbourg, France 1993-1995

Chief Quality Officer

Led a Quality staff of 75 employees and managed the quality system for a very highly vertically integrated automatic

transmission engineering center and production operation, which included aluminum foundry, stamping press shop,

machining and assembly.

Increased throughput by 70% and improved profitability by > $50M through increased customer penetration, improved

quality and new product innovation.

Led ISO 9001 registration, which was the first of its kind in General Motors.

Powertrain - Pontiac, MI 1992-1993
