I will be leaving the British Army in May 2015 after a 24 year career. I
have recently completed my BOSIET, MIST and OPITO banksman & slinger stage
1 training with SURVIVEX in Aberdeen so I can pursue a career within the
Oil Industry. I will also be completing a Nebosh Oil & Gas certificate with
BV Associates in July 2015.
Ideally I would like to gain employment as a Health & Safety advisor,
however I am willing to start at the bottom and work my way up within your

2014 to present: Technical/Advisor; Safety, Health & Fire (UK MOD)
. Formulate and develop Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental policy to
meet compliance with current legislation, MoD guidelines with due
consideration to new acquisitions or processes.
. Arbitrate and advise the Head of Establishment as to how the organization
can best promote a positive Health & Safety culture and effectively
implement its policy and procedures.
. Plan and set both short-and long-term objectives, deciding upon
priorities and establish adequate systems with clear performance markers

making sure all their paperwork is up to date and correct.
. Organizing recruiting drives & events, visiting Schools, colleges & youth
organizations to give oral presentations on the British Army.
. Inputting and updating data onto military recruiting software, working to
tight schedules in a demanding environment where it is important that the
team meets its stats and figures for that recruiting year.
2004 to 2010: Team Manager & Team instructor (MOD UK)
. Team manager in a ceremonial regiment based in London a demanding role
working long hours. Responsible for the welfare, administration and
safety for a troop of 20 soldiers & 40 horses.
. Managing monthly work & duty spreadsheets and ration returns for the
entire workforce.
. Managing a very large equipment account making sure it's well maintained
and issued out correctly.
. Ability to advise his immediate superior on all matters of discipline,
training, welfare administration and competence of the team and its
equipment at all times.
