Maintenance Supervisor
Managed the maintenance and facility for a privately owned company which specializes in private labeled innovative snack products.
The facility has a total of 260,000 sq. ft. and has over 300 employees. Managed a maintenance budget of over $8.0 Million and a
maintenance group of 26 non union technicians, planners, and staff members. The company increased in size by 25% demanding an
increase in staffing and necessary maintenance planning. A new CMMS project – “MVP Plant” was introduced and integrated with
new SOPs and inventory controls. Due to the company’s rapid growth, downtime increased to over 8% with a goal of 5%. A TPM plan
was developed and implemented which utilized the new CMMS to work with a re designed PM program which resulted in a reduction of
downtime to 6.5%. Significant improvements were realized by an increase in both production and sales volume.
• Played an active role in planning, developing and implementing a TPM and PM program.
• Saved $360,000 per mo. in scrap waste by engineering innovative modifications to the equipment design and function to keep
the food product from hitting the floor; reducing waste and increasing profits.
• Reduced labor overhead by efficient planning and cutting unnecessary overtime.
• Increased equipment up time through effective coaching and developing the maintenance team.
• Partnered with the Technical Service Manager to test and identify the maintenance team’s weakness and to develop a means

Maintenance Supervisor
Ocean Spray is an agricultural cooperative of growers who grow primarily cranberries and grapefruit. Headquartered in Middleborough,
MA, the cooperative is made of up of over 700 members who are owners and growers. Ocean Spray employees over 2,000
employees with over $2.2 Billion in yearly sales. The products sold include cranberry sauce, fruit juices, fruit snacks and dried
cranberries. Managing 26 union maintenance technicians and periodically 56 production operators in the bottling and packaging of fruit
juices, cranberry juices and cranberry sauces. Managed and provided leadership and electrical expertise in order to maintain an
efficient plant and optimize the equipment and plant performances.

• Planned and managed TPM projects to improve equipment performance. Only one project finished on the dead line and on
budget. All other projects (2) where completed ahead of the projected time frame and under budget resulting in an increase
in production and revenue.
• Established a program for developing the maintenance team’s knowledge through training programs that they could complete
at their own pace including MOW training.
• Identified and resolved recurring downtime issues through establishing a TPM program that addressed inefficient operational
issues.
• Maintained a balanced maintenance budget of $12.0 Million using CMMS – Maximo, to control inventory levels and used the
system for documentation, reports, planning and scheduling.
• Developed a business plan to reduce labor overtime issues. This was achieved by cross training and then utilizing the
mechanics in those areas when needed. This created a 3% savings in labor.
• Established and maintained daily interaction with the operators who communicated any concerns about a particular piece of
equipment and any suggestions for improving the process and operation.
• Managed and established an extremely superb rapport with outside contractors and vendors. This saved a significant amount
of expensive downtime because they responded quickly when needed.
• As a team member, I assisted production by filling in as the Production Supervisor for periods of time when needed.

Shurline is a division of Newell Rubbermaid Corporation. This division distributes, manufacturers and packages paint rollers and offers
innovative solutions for the do it yourself consumer painter. Originally named EZ Paintr, the company was recognized as the first to
introduce the concept of do it yourself painting. By the end of 2012, Newell’s 4th quarter net sales were $1.52 Billion of which Shurline
contributed $73.4 Million in annual revenues.
• Managed and directed 18 union maintenance technicians and 1 staff assistant.
• Directed and created a Lock Out / Tag Out SOP and led the training of all plant personnel – authorized and non authorized.
• Developed SOP’s and directed the plant Arc Flash – OSHA compliant project.
• Developed an SOP and recycling program for scrap which recovered $300,000 that normally was discarded. This continues to
improve with operator training and willingness to participate.
• Collaborated with other engineers to develop machines that would accelerate and produce more efficient paint rollers. The
project was not only a success, but it was completed way under budget and a few days ahead of schedule. This automated a
normally manual process from producing 10,750 covers per shift to an excess of over 43,200 covers produced; and an
increase of over 300% in profits.
• Reduced downtime to less than 5% from the original 7% through cross training and motivation.
• Managed training programs that actively improved the company’s maintenance KPI’s.
o Reduced the number of PM / CM backlog items by 12%
Utilizing the MP2 system the percentage of work orders completed increased by 15%
