Objective: To secure a position that will utilize my extensive background
in the IT and sales fields. Over 20 years in various roles that included
technician, engineer, project manager, procurement, vendor management, and
sales (inside and outside).
Experience: 6 years US Navy, senior E5 (SW) Fire Control Technician. Worked
on the ship's weapons systems including Harpoon missile and CIWS system.
6 years Star Wars project, worked on a prototype reconnaissance aircraft
with Raytheon, MIT, Honeywell, Ball Aerospace, Santa Barbra Research
Center. Developed, tested, and maintained a multi billion dollar project
for the US Army Strategic Defense Command.
Development at MIT's Lincoln Laboratory, through deployment to Alaska. From
Alaska, we were able to deploy in a matter of hours to sites like Hawaii
and Guam.
15 years in the IT sales and brokerage field. Partnered with major
manufactures and VAR's in account management and sales. Have worked with
Cisco gold, HP elite, McAfee elite, Microsoft gold, Tech Data, and Ingram
Micro. Provided professional services including physical security (video
over IP systems), mesh wireless systems for voice and data, intrusion
management, tier 1 enterprise storage, and network management.
On the brokerage side, I would purchase excess/surplus IT equipment from
end users, and resell to other dealers. (Gray market)
My customers ranged from SMB to fortune 500.
From a sales side, I can sit with a CIO and discuss TCO and ROI, and from a
technical side, I can demonstrate hardware for the IT admin and "hands on"
people saying "you are going to like what this does".
One of my favorite deals was pitching a Cisco wireless project to a college
CIO.
Got the 200K deal and was part of the install team climbing 20 foot ladders
to mount outside access points. (Jacket and tie one day, jeans and Nikes
the next)
Current position is
Business development: Finding new customers using local resources.
(Atlanta business chronicle is a great resource to find new/emerging
companies)
Outside sales: Meeting new customers, building contacts in the IT
department.
Field engineer: Install/setup of new servers, storage, and network gear.
Also the deinstall of existing equipment from data centers like Savvis and
Sungard.
Technician: Testing/auditing/inventory of equipment that has been acquired.
Currently working towards PMP certification.
