Title: Colour Image Enhancement using Beagle Board-xM (Texas Instruments board)
Abstract: The enhancement techniques are employed in order to increase the contrast of an image. Generally, an image
can be enhanced by spreading out the range of illumination of scene. This procedure is called contrast stretching.
Contrast stretching, often improves the contrast in an image by ‘stretching’ the range of intensity values it contains .
This is normally done to access images details that may be difficult for the human viewer to observe. Our main goal in
this project is to apply a contrast enhancement technique to recover an image from blur image and also improve image
quality of it. The proposed method and algorithm is implemented using TI produced BB-xM, which is a true
open hardware, community-supported embedded computer for developers and hobbyists. The method of
enhancement thus proposed shows significant improvement in the quality of image.
