Dear Sir/Madam:
I am writing to you to express my interest in applying for the positions of both Event Management Staff and Marketing
and Promotions Manager with PLD Promotions. I possess the skills and attributes that would fit this role. I am honest,
reliable, organized, and have an excellent attitude around others. My creative nature and positive energy make me a
valuable contributor and an excellent team player.
In 2010 I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Windsor with a
minor in Dramatic Arts. Upon graduating I went on to complete a Post-Graduate Program in Event Management at
Conestoga College with a focus on sports and entertainment.
I have been working as a part-time office assistant for 2+ years with iTechConnect, an independent IT recruiting
business in which I perform weekly tasks such as screening candidates, preparing documents, filing, website content
management and data organization. In April 2013 I obtained a full-time contract position with The Safety Village as
the Crime Prevention Programs Coordinator. This position allowed me to manage and re-develop the city funded
program- Neighbourhood Watch Windsor as well as to work with a budget to bring additional outreach programs,
events and seminars to educate the surrounding community. This position was largely administrative as it required
maintaining an organized program filing system, database work, sponsorship inquires, booking travel arrangements,
producing media releases and grant writing. I also had the opportunity to maintain a close working relationship with
City of Windsor Ward Councilors often working on collaborative events and program related seminars. Being the key
organizer of monthly Crime Prevention Committee meetings allowed me to gain experience with the recording and
distributing of meeting minutes as well as managing a large and diverse group of people. I possess excellent
communication skills and am able to adapt and create professional relationships in any given situation.
I would also like to mention that my past experience included, working as the Promotions Coordinator at AM800-Bell
Media and alongside their sister stations. I managed a team of 25 interns as we represented the stations at various
charity and community events. In this position I also took care of sponsorship inquires, website content management,
promotional inventory, social media and events planning.
While working on my Post-Graduate certificate, I finished an 8-month work placement term as an Events Coordinator
at the Waterloo Region Record in the Show Division. As a group, we worked to plan, promote and execute the region’s
six annual consumer shows and other projects as they arose. This position allowed me to gain experience in creating
press releases, working closely with the media, obtaining sponsorships and strengthen my social media skills. In
February 2011 two other students and I were tasked with the challenge to create and manage a charity event that was
entitled The Red Dress and Tie Gala in which we paired up with The Heart and Stroke Foundation. I know how to
work as part of a team while putting forth full individual effort. This is a key component to the success of any project
or goal, as it is to running a thriving business.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience at my cell:(1-519-***-****) or email me at **********@*****.***.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Chantalle Faubert
