Professional Work Experience

Bell – Production Engineer (Contract March 2012 – May 2012)

Identifies opportunities for product improvements through evaluation of manufacturing practices, process

flow and assembly methods; coordinate activities to implement solutions.

Develop essential line documents (work instructions, sketches, and other documentation) to support

manufacturing processes, modify existing processes/products to resolve quality problems. Performs other

duties as assigned (report preparation, etc) and verifying and validation to ensure production readiness.

Bell – Industrial Engineer (Contract December 2010 – July 2011)

Perform time studies to determine actual hours required per defined task description within various sequences

of operation. Document all data, recommendations for streamline operations using best practice to establish,

cost savings and cost avoidance.

Conduct environmental studies, dealing with human interaction within the production work place;

explore the relationship between people and the totality of their environment, encumbering various

sequential operations, which require natural and built sets of relationship.

Studies performed covered structures, electrical, harness installation, traveled work, bench work, and

undocumented work.

Boeing – Industrial/Process Engineer (Contract November 2008 – December 2009)

Perform detail studies of disassembly, assembly, examination/evaluation, and functional testing of

components and sub assemblies of the Apache (AH 64) Helicopter, to determine methods of improvement,

cost reduction, and the elimination of elements contributing to none value added.

Obtain operational information to perform analysis to develop work standard for labor utilization, estimate

production time, workflow, process flow charts, floor layouts, worker’s efficiency and the reduction of

material waste. Data obtained is useful to management to enhance performance, reduce cost, and improve

quality utilizing Lean Manufacturing and general Industrial Engineering practices and principles.

Identify new process improvement opportunities to reduce the scope of work and level of effort required to

perform a task; work with the various departmental work centers to synergy functions to eliminate repeated

effort causing avoidable delays, increasing process flow, determine manpower requirements,

perform analysis/plan workforce utilization, tool analysis/tool design, and develop proposal(s) for capital

expenditures/cost justification.

Provide leadership ability, take charge attitude with the initiative to resolve shop floor problems and issues

based on fact finding and historical data to support decision making. Take on added responsibilities,

coordinating with various external departments to determine the scope of effort required to implement

projects such as a Quick Win.

Hands on person, work directly with shop personnel, operators, and mechanics to resolve day to day issues to

eliminate potential problems or bottleneck that may restrict or interfere with the process flow or worker’s

ability to perform job. Proficiency in the use of Micro Soft Office, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Microsoft Project,

and Access, experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, six sigma, TQM, JIT, design of experiment, Pareto Charts,

root cause analysis, etc.

Take on the role of Project Lead/Project Manager assigning task to other engineers utilizing their expertise

and learned knowledge. Interface and interact as a Liaison Engineer with various functional departments and

work groups. To achieve goals and objectives selective team members can make the difference between

success and failure, for to achieve is to succeed.

Boeing – Manufacturing Estimating Specialist IV (November 1995 – November 2006)

Review/analysis/evaluate assigned projects to determine the effort required to support customer's request.

Interact with Project Managers to define task description, methodology, derivation of estimate, source data

and phasing methodology needed to create Bill of Estimate (BOE) for various projects.

Create Performance Work Statement (PWS), estimate unit cost evaluation (ship short, scrap tags, etc),

provide supplier cost recovery (non conformance) product improvement reduction cost for corrective action

proposals, and perform in house cost analysis as to make/buy decisions.

Develop labor and material estimates, establish and apply estimating and pricing methodologies using

historical data, and engineering task; worked multiply government proposal in support of the C 17 Program.

Provide ground rules and assumptions to establish consistency and impact as to how they will effect derive

man hours in support of contract proposal. Develop or assist in the design of a program database to maintain

source data for estimating purposes.

Perform time studies to determine actual hours required per defined task description within various

sequences of operation. Document all data, recommendations for streamline operations using best

practice to establish, cost savings and cost avoidance.

Conduct environmental studies, dealing with human interaction within the production work place;
