CD133 Melanoma Initiating Cells

• Investigated the effects of siRNA transfection on CD133 by exploiting it to

investigate its role in the knock down of a cell surface marker protein known as

CD133

• Verified the knockdown process by RT-PCR

• Optimized the temperature cycling conditions through Gradient PCR

• Determined the cell viability through XTT assay

• Generated dose-response curve for different drug treatments

• Gained wet lab experience and knowledge of biochemical and cell-based assays

research supporting diagnostic solutions in cancer treatment.
