Educational Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering in First
Class with Distinction from Regional Engineering College, Surat (Under
South Gujarat University) in 1983.
Brief Introduction on Work Experience.
I worked in various prestigious consultancy companies and at present working in a major power
company in various capacities with over 26 years of work experience. My main work has been
planning, analysis & design of RCC and Steel structures related to steel plants, power plants,
industrial structures, residential and commercial structures and buildings. I had exposure to and
understanding of related components of steel plants and power plants. I am reasonably
conversant with the mechanical and electrical aspects of the above in addition to civil and
structural aspects in which I have the experience and expertise.
I was involved in the planning, analysis, design and preparation of Civil/Structural drawings of
major structures related to steel and power plants like steel melt shops, iron ore and coal
handling plant structures like Transfer Points(Junction towers),crusher houses, track hoppers and
Machinery Hatches, wagon tippler structures, Stacker Reclaimer foundations, underground
tunnels for conveyors over ground conveyor galleries and their supporting trestles etc, fuel oil
handling system civil works and structures like Large and medium fuel oil tank foundations,
retaining walls, drainage scheme in FO area, Oil Water Separator pits, fuel oil pump houses, pipe
supporting trestles, pedestals and their foundations, design of pile and open foundations for
power plant structures, ash handling system civil works, ash dyke design, miscellaneous other
plant and non plant/offsite buildings and structures like main plant building for power house,
administrative building, auditorium, Workshop bldg, permanent stores, CHP office Cum
workshop building, dozer maintenance shed, Fire Station building, drill tower etc.
I am thoroughly familiar with all aspects of RCC and steel structural designs and I have a
fairly good working knowledge of using computerized structural analysis and design
packages.
I am also thoroughly familiar with piling and pile foundations and pile testing procedures,
having been involved in the designs of piling and foundations of major power projects
notably Kahalgaon Stage-I, Unchahar and Vindhyachal STPP Stage-II of NTPC, wherein
I single handedly designed the pile foundations for main power house building columns,
Auxiliary columns, mill-bunker building, ESP and boiler supporting structure
foundations, PA, FD and ID fan foundations etc..Also I was involved in the piling and
foundation packages of other plants notably Kayamkulam and Faridabad gas projects.
I am also experienced in preparation of feasibility reports and Tender documents, Quantity
estimation for Steel and RCC structures, R&M and retrofitting/rehabilitation of old and
distressed structures, use of latest structural analysis and design softwares.
I am also familiar with the British, Chinese and American codes of design practices in addition
to relevant IS codes..
I am in a position to lead a team of engineers in planning and executing detailed
engineering work for power plant, steel plant, infrastructure or any other industrial
project as well as give support to site during execution.
For me, the important aspects of any work are Safety of the structure, Economical design,
practicability and feasibility of the structure as well as aesthetics and delivering the work on
schedule. Adherence to latest codal requirements, mechanical and electrical and other client
requirement are also important. Some of the major works done by me during my professional

limited to the following:--
