Slavie Federal Savings Bank, Bel Air, MD 1977 – 2014
President, CEO and Chairman (January 2001 – June 2014)
• Developed and d irected strategic p lanning and annual b udget of approximately $10M in revenue and
m anaged the day-to-day operations at multiple branch locations.
• Developed agendas and directed bi-monthly Board Meetings as Chairman of a seven member board of
d irectors.
• Chaired the ALCO Committee and managed and reduced the bank’s interest rate risk rating from significant to
minimal.
• Interim CFO from March 2011 to June 2011.
• Managed and developed the bank's advertising and marketing with a budget of $150K.
• Supervised and coordinated the bank’s conversion to a mutual holding company in 2004 and raised $12M in
capital. Successfully grew the bank’s assets to $205M in 2010.
• Supervised and reviewed all SEC filings (10Q, 10K, etc.), annual report and proxy statement
• Principal contact with all regulatory agencies and national and state trade organizations.
• Supervised and reviewed internal audit function including compliance and IT operations.
• Responsible for investment portfolio in the range of $20M to $40M.
• Supervised the bank’s loan workouts, problem loans, criticized assets and OREO. Reduced criticized assets
by approximately $4M and sold 39 OREO properties in 2013.
• Member of loan committee with individual loan approval to $500K and a higher dollar amount as a board
member.
• Managed and supervised the bank’s employee benefit programs including the 401(k) plan and the employee
stock ownership plan (ESOP).
• Established and continued to oversee the commercial lending department with the chief lending officer.
• Established and supervised the bank’s financial services division.
