(September 2013 to January 2015)

Subcontractor to NASA at the Glenn Research Center.

Wrote test procedures and tested RF components for the CTS (Compatibility

Test Set) project.

RF components included up/down converters, fiber optic interfaces,

filters, cables, power supplies and components custom built for this

project.

Components were in S, K and Ka frequency bands.

Tested embedded software written for this project.

Wrote test reports for components and systems tested.

o L-3 Communications West

(October 2010 to September 2013)

Designed and wrote test procedures for RF assemblies including aircraft

modems, Ka band up/down convertors, Radar and other military related

communication equipment.

Wrote Engineering Change orders as needed.

Used LabVIEW to write automated testing for above test procedures.

Did troubleshooting, repair and tuning for above products.

IPC-A-610 certified.

o MtronPTI, Orlando Florida

(September 2009 to December 2009, four month contract position)

Used Genesys to design passive LC filters (180 MHz to 2.4 GHz).

Built and tuned prototypes of LC filters.

Used Ansoft HFSS version 10.1 and CFdesign version 10 to design a DC to

50 GHz RF bolometer for use as a power calibration standard, also for use

in RF power meters.

Used Genesys 2007.8.

Personally built and tested all prototypes.

Designed and worked with suppliers to produce custom high frequency

connectors (2.4 mm), gold plated brass housings and high frequency

(DC to 50 GHz) single layer thermistors.

o NetCom Inc., Wheeling, IL ( October 1997 to December 2005)

o Filtronetics, Kansas City, Missouri (August 1988- September 1994)

o At Netcom, Filtronetics and MtronPTI:

Designed, built and tuned passive L C filters, 2 kHz to 6 GHz.

This included: component selection, P C board layout, writing all

instructions, troubleshooting, PCB component level repairs and assembly

procedures for the production of the filters.

Personally built prototype units and small production orders.

Did my own soldering, including soldering parts 0402 and smaller under a

microscope. Soldered with both leaded and lead-free solder.

Used conductive epoxies were soldering was not an option.

Did my own environmental testing, including high potential testing of

power filters and documentation. Wrote procedures for environmental

testing.

At all of the above, Operated test equipment:

Agilent Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Phase Noise measurement, signal

generators, RF power meter, Q & LC meters, Hipot testers, etc.

The use of the Network Analyzers included extensive use of Impedance

Matching, Optimizing Return Loss and Time Domain analysis.

Used design controls process to improve manufacturing process.

o Additional experience @ NetCom Inc.:

Built and prototyped an Up/Down Converter for a 3 tesla MRI. This

included power supplies, programmable attenuators and cabling.

Built and prototyped Spectrocopies and pre-amps for a 31 phospurous, both

3 tesla and 4 tesla MRI.

Aided with Six Sigma projects.

Built and prototyped crystal oscillators.

Did precision phase noise testing of crystal oscillators using an RF

shielding screen room.

Electrical Engineer

Federal Aviation Administration, Kansas City, Missouri (June 1987-

January 1988)

Designed and built control interfaces for light systems using NEC. This

included selecting power supplies and field testing them. Coordinated

and engineered small construction projects.
