receivable. This application seamlessly integrates Access, Word, Outlook

and Gmail to produce custom documents, email documents, upload/download

Fred Darland and Associates, Mendocino, CA 2012 -2014

Developed custom applications for agricultural exporters in the California

Central Valley, Oregon and Washington to track inventory, create export

documents and invoice clients. These MS Access/VBA applications integrated

third-party software to seamlessly connect with commercial truck scales to

automatically update inventory records from incoming and outgoing truck

loads, and used Outlook and Excel to email export documentation to several

parties at once. Using Intuit's QuickBooks Software Developer's Toolkit

(SDK), automated most bookkeeping functions to eliminate the need for

duplicated efforts: created QuickBook customers, jobs, invoices, received

product into inventory, created bills and posted payments to QuickBooks

support for this Jackson Square retail art gallery. The application is

unique in using embedded graphics in records, forms and reports to

represent inventory items and produce high quality sales materials. It

QuickBooks customers, inventory items and invoices directly from SAMS,

eliminating the need to manually enter invoices and payments in two

separate applications. The application also integrates Word documents with

invoicing and accounts receivable. This application seamlessly

integrated Access, Word, Outlook and Gmail to produce custom documents,

email documents, upload/download documents to FTP sites, automatically

receivables.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

? Working with the Pacific Bell - Industry Markets Division

reconciliation team responsible for redistributing assest between

Pacific Bell and AT&T per the court ordered breakup of the AT&T system,

developed database and spreadsheet tools identify assets to relocate,

quantify the financial adjustments required, manage administrative

processes to transfer assets, and create reports and graphs for

management teams and executives of both companies. Data generated by

this application provided the basis for a financial settlement between

Pacific Bell and AT&T which ended the legal transistion phase and

provided the basis for ongoing systems in both companies to complete

the transfer of assets.

? As a product of the original reconciliation project, designed and

developed TABS (Tracking and Analysis of Billing Systems) to support

billing systems reconciliation projects for Pacific Bell - Industry

Markets Division. This PC system includes data entry and validation,

reporting, analysis and trending modules and has been adapted for use

by both Special and Switched Access reconciliation groups.

Inc., a member of the United Newspapers Group.

MARS - Miscellaneous Revenue Accounts Receivable System:, a data

entry system for billing information. Generates invoices and produces

general ledger and aging reports.

CCS - Commissions Calculation System, calculates commissions due

sales people based on data downloaded from mainframe billing system.

MOE - Medical Order Entry System, a client-server order entry system

for a unit that publishes medical newsletters distributed to clinics

worldwide. Includes contracts, ordering, and accounting modules.

HRBF - Human Resources Head Count Budgeting and Forecasting System, a

budgeting and forecasting system for employee salary and incentives.

This system is used by the Human Resources department and department

managers.

RATS - Return Accounts Tracking System, tracks accounts referred to

collection agencies. Includes numerous financial and management

reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

? Developed the Environmental Inspections Tracking System for Pacific Gas

and Electric - Environmental Services Department to track and analyze

department's inspection findings.

Also developed the Agency Inspections Tracking System to track and

environmental inspections initiated by local, state and federal

government agencies.

? Developed the Hazardous Materials Inventory Database for Pacific Gas

andElectric - Power Generation Division to track existence and quantity

of hazardous materials in powerplants. When PG&E sold off power plants

in in1998 this application was adapted for more general use and sold to

purchases of power plants by PG&.

? Developed the Health and Environmental Inspections Tracking System for

US West, Inc. to track and analyze health and safety as well as

environmental inspections for US West facilities and constructions

sites.

? Developed trending and analytical reports for ERM - West, Inc., an

environmental consulting firm. Worked with teams of hydrologists and

testing labs to develop tracking and reporting applications and

procedures for ongoing consulting engagements.

Also developed a windows-based reporting system for the accounting

department that downloads data from their general ledger system into a

PC database, calculates employee benefits, produces numerous

pre-defined reports, and allows ad hoc reporting.

SHIPPING

? Designed and developed SBR (Sales Booking Reports), a marketing support

system for Matson Navigation Company. This LAN-based system produces

management and analysis reports from mainframe data for marketing

managers in headquarters and eight ports on the West Coast and Hawaii.

Also developed DTS (Document Tracking System), a corporate shipping

document tracking system.

ADVERTISING/PUBLIC RELATIONS

? Developed the Demographic Data Ordering Application for NameFinders

Lists, Inc., a direct mail marketing company. This application

calculates the number of names to order from demographic service firms

in various categories (zip code, age, family income) according to

criteria entered by users. The application is designed to accommodate

selection criteria for businesses ranging from retail chains to

banking.

Also developed several-special purpose response analysis applications

used by NameFinders to manage large accounts.

? Developed a Media Tracking and Invoicing Application for Douglass,

Rosewater & Brown, an advertising and public relations company. This

application tracks magazine and newspaper advertising projects,

schedules placement of ads, invoices, and tracks vendor payments.

Also developed a corporate contacts database.

PHARMACEUTICALS

? Developed a physician call tracking system for the Merck Scientific

Study Center in Hungary for Merck & Co., a multi-national

pharmaceutical company. This application is also being used by Merck's

marketing office in Moscow.
