Role: Director of Information Technology (Enterprise Business Applications)

PBS has transformed itself from a solely broadcast organization to a multi-

platform leader that serves Americans through television, mobile TV, the

Web, interactive whiteboards in the classroom and more. PBS reaches more

than 103 million people through television and over 33 million people

online each month. My responsibilities include supporting PBS with the day-

to-day activities, bring new initiatives, and expand the network to its

member stations and work collaboratively with IT leaders throughout the

enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

. Oversee the development of software application projects and

internet/intranet websites including proof of concept, business

analysis, non-functional and user functional requirements, technical

specifications, application and user interface design, database

design, coding, security configuration, testing, documentation,

training, implementation and quality assurance.

. Communicate effectively with business sponsors and stakeholders to

provide feedback on risk analysis, project status, and change

requirements to ensure project objectives are met and potential impact

on schedule and costs is actively managed.

. Guide the development team in design and development efforts to ensure

that the application and database design meet usability, functional

and security requirements and adhere to corporate standards.

. Consult and collaborate internally within IM and with other corporate

divisions to determine current and future technology needs and to

enhance the coordination of Information Management application support

business applications to Senior Vice President of Information

Management and actively contribute in laying out and maintaining IT

Application Road Map.

. Manage the evaluation, acquisition and implementation of contracted

services (i.e., hosting services, contract programming) for business

applications including preparing requests for proposal, vendor

selection recommendation, contract negotiations, vendor performance

management, testing, and documentation, training, implementation and

quality assurance.

. Evaluate technology solutions; recommend courses of action and support

acquisition of hardware, software and services to meet end user

requirements.

. Drive Evaluation of Third-party Packaged Solutions and Vendor Delivery

capabilities by developing vendor evaluation package, total cost of

ownership for solutions, and degree-of-fit evaluations for the

Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products.

. Manage independently multiple medium to large project initiatives

throughout the system development life cycle process from project

initiation to close with full budget and schedule responsibility and

Role: IT Program Manager

The American Society for Microbiology is the oldest and largest single life

science membership organization in the world. Membership has grown from 59

scientists in 1899 to more than 39,000 members today, with more than one

third located outside the United States. My job responsibility includes

providing transition of a customer to a large cloud-computing

infrastructure, providing elastic capacity and the ability to process and

analyze large volumes of data.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

articles from the print edition of U.S. News also appear on U.S. News

Online. While working my job responsibility involves manage, update and

design web sites with database-driven dynamic content using HTML, CSS,

growth and first among food websites. While working my job responsibility

involved updating and designing web sites with database-driven dynamic

content using HTML, ASP, ASP.Net, JSP, and JavaScript.

Developed "WebToTeach" system to address the limited opportunities for

computer science students to practice the concepts taught in the classroom.

The system offered a web-based interactive programming exercise. The

program was based on "automatic-program checking software" and was designed

to be easy to use for faculty and students. Another aspect of the

philosophy behind the system was to encourage sharing of exercises among

faculty.
