Objective: To secure a position where my many years of management, team leadership,
marketing and retail experience will fully benefit my employer and their customers.
Employment/ Work History:
June, 1991 to June, 1999
Founded and managed Mathews Exteriors performing contracting work on both residential and
commercial projects. Obtained General Contractor’s License in Arkansas in order to win contracts
for large scale commercial projects. Annual sales were +/ $450,000.00
June 1999 to September 2014
Founded and managed T.T. S. Tire and Auto in Bentonville. I was a working Owner/General
Manager with 8 work bays and a full automobile showroom for tires and customizing accessories.
Managed staff of three full time auto repair technicians, two service writers, and one tire and
custom wheel technician.
I have over 20 years of business working with customers, vendors, and suppliers in
merchandising to the retail public on a daily basis.
My shop was professional in customer service and appearance. We were on the forefront of
new trends and business. I staffed it with professional talent. Due to my growth the last 5 years of
business I have spent most of my time working on the business instead of in the business..
Bringing in potential customers. Using different media platforms and approaches. Utilizing
displays and many other promotional items and avenues. Getting the most out of every penny
spent is paramount. I have been involved with effective promotions and less than effective
promotions. Promoting a business has been in my head 20 years. The most fun I've had in
business has been finding new ways to promote products at the least cost.
Biggest accomplishment In 2010, in the height of the recession, I revised our business plan. Due
to the plans success, I relocated our shop from the original 3 bay store to the larger 8 bay store
with a complete showroom. Sales increased from $600,000 in 2010 to $885,000 in August 2014.
Along with the margins going from 45% to 62%
Skills
Advertising Due to the internet’s constant evolution, I have used different media platforms to
track effectiveness of new customer acquisitions, while also promoting customer confidence in
past business. Registering our business listings on Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yelp, Angies List,
Merchant Circle, ect. I worked on scheduling promotions, sales, and public awareness in
conjunction with local events, sports events, and seasonal buying habits. It was daily to stay on
top of these things to be competitive with internet competition, and how to capitalize on the
internet. Along with manufactures and suppliers dealer locators, while continually tying all the
social media Facebook, Google pages, YouTube, E bay, Instagram, Flicker, Twitter, together with
the business listings.
Computer Proficiency I have used Excell, Microsoft Office, Mitchell 1, Quickbooks and various
other software programs to track profit and loss, Return On Investment, Customer retention, Car
Count, Customer referrals and Profit margins along with other aspects of business.
Customer retention Over 15 years of highlighting customer advantages of performing repairs and
service with our company. Many of our customers viewed us as friends helping them stretch their
money for their immediate and future advantage.
Vendor and manufactures negotiations Over 15 years of price negotiating to insure us getting
our products at a lower rate and quicker delivery than our competitors. With most of my suppliers
we were on a daily communication. Most of the manufacture and vendor reps became friends of
our business. They were not afraid to call or come by at any time.
Associate management My team felt their input, their questions and concerns were appreciated.
Anyone from; lead tech, lead service writer, down to the tire tech, were welcome to call me
anytime, day or night, including weekends.
Training I personally trained many people on the best way to perform a task or conduct
themselves. I sent people to various training seminars and workshops to stay up on procedures
and business evolution. I also attended many training classes myself.
Business ethics Never sell or perform a service that is not needed. Also, is the job a win for the
customer and a win for the shop? If it does not fit this criterion, we will decline performing the
work. And above all: ALWAYS be honest with the consumer.
Education I failed to attend college after High School. However, I am currently finishing the first
semester of classes at the Northwest Arkansas Community College. I am pursuing the corporate
learning classes.
In closing it is very difficult to convey all the duties and responsibilities I performed as a business
owner in a rapidly changing business. To forecast the trends of new business, while also seeing
the decline of old trends and strategies.

In June, 2014, we lost our building lease when the property was sold and I decided not to incur
new debt by relocating. I am excited to begin a new career.
