Nursing position wherein I will utilize my educational achievements at the Sacramento City College
licensed vocational nursing program, nursing skills and extensive experience, as well as my experience in

ACHIEVEMENTS

I am currently employed at Marshall Medical Center in the wound care center as a certified wound care
specialist. I also assist with the management of ostomies. I am trained in the management of hyperbaric
oxygen chambers. I assisted in the development of Marshall’s first outpatient wound care clinic. My
duties include data collection/assessment of new admissions, making treatment recommendations under
the direction of physicians, provide consultations and treatment for inpatients, assist surgeons with
debridements, I&Ds and other surgical procedures, treatment and management of complex wound
problems per physician order.

Transitional Care Unit. My title was “Admissions/Treatment Nurse.” My duties included admission data
collection/assessments, daily patient data collection/assessments, charting, medication administration,
treatments per order, developing care plans based upon initial assessment findings, performance
improvement chart audits, member of pressure ulcer risk assessment team, monitoring all inpatients on a
quarterly basis, and any other duties assigned to me. This position has allowed me to utilize all nursing
skills within my scope of practice.

Worked in a very fast paced, autonomous, demanding environment, providing health care to inmates at
the El Dorado County Jail. I was employed on a full time basis for 8 months in this position. This job
could be described as working in the midst of “ER”, “Cops” and “Court TV.” Our patients often have
complex medical, dental, mental health and social/economical issues. My duties included health
assessment, clinical nursing, emergency response, sharing management/organizational responsibilities for
our medical department, administering medications and treatments as ordered, and working closely with
our own practitioners, outside practitioners, mental health as well as custody staff.

Successfully carried out the duties assigned in my first nursing assignment at the Gold Country Health
Center. I was assigned as med nurse, treatment nurse, in which case I cared for 33 patients, assessing,
charting, passing medication, directing CNA’s, informing physicians and families, implementing care
plans. Or I assisted nursing supervisor, with increased supervisory and management responsibilities.
Excelled in my formal nursing training program graduating with a 4.0 GPA, supporting my classmates
and the teaching staff as Class President.
