Port (Qatar Petroleum)
Ensure safe conduct of pilotage operation of LNG Ships (Q-Max & Q-Flex)
Ensure safe conduct of cargo and mooring operation of tankers at SPM
Terminal (Maximum SDWT of 300000 tonnes with maximum draft of 22meter.
Ensure protection of the Company and Clients assets by the safe navigation
of sea-going vessels within the port limit and ambit of SPM Terminal.
Conduct a safety inspection prior to loading to ensure that the vessel
meets all International and Port Safety Regulations.
Carry out physical/paper vetting and approval of nominated vessels.

. Conduct anchoring, piloting, berthing and unberthing of ship (between
1,000 DWT to 120,000 DWT) Calling at PETRONAS Sungai Udang Port
(Malaysia) terminals in the safe manner.
. Conduct piloting of Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs of more than
200,000 DWT and max. draft of 22m)
. Mooring and unmooring of VLCCs to the Single Point Mooring (SPM)
within the Port Limits in safe manner.
. (Melaka Straits Pilotage) Piloting fully Loaded VLCCs (2million bbl of
crude) through the Straits of Melaka (188 Nautical Miles) in the safe
manner.
. Tandem berthing at FPSO's, (150N.miles Offshore Malaysia).
. Coach and train junior Pilots to acquire their skills and expertise in
ship handling to ensure continue learning process and readiness of
successor.
Single Point Mooring (SPM) Loading Master
. Thoroughly familiar with all aspects of liquid cargo handling on board
tankers.
. Monitors the handling of cargo operations and acts a liaison between
the vessel and the Terminal while the vessel is in the moorings.
. Monitors the anchors and/or mooring lines for proper positioning.
. Monitors the weather conditions to remain within safe operating
parameters.
. Ensure that all local, national, international rules, regulation,
guidelines and standards (such as International Safety Guide for Oil
Tankers and Terminals; ISGOTT) are adhered to
. Ensure that all appropriate and associated documents, records and
checklists are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
. Review and make corrective recommendations for the vessel's loading or
discharge plan.
