I started out the year co-teaching a third grade classroom. A couple of months into the year one of the 4th grade teachers quit and I volunteered to take over the classroom. This classroom was very rough behaviorally when I started with them, which was why the pervious teacher quit.

I was hired the day that I had my interview as an instructional assistant for a 5th grade boy with special needs. A little while into the school year the special education teacher asked if I would switch my assignment with another aide. She had two 2nd grade students who needed more personalized attention then the student I was with. For one of the students if I could not work with him, they were thinking about sending him to a specialized school.
