BE Project:

IMPLEMENTATION OF PHONOCARDIOGRAM USING PIC MICROCONTROLLER:

In this work, an innovative microcontroller based system has been developed for detecting different activity of human heart. PIC microcontroller 16F72, a stethoscope and an electronic circuitry has been utilized in this system. The heart sounds are first acquired using a stethoscope fitted with normal condenser microphone. The acquired signals are fed in to simple amplifier which amplifies the original signal. A low pass filter is used to filter the signal from the amplifier. The graphical display of heart sounds were observed on a PC. This system is able to detect the heart sound of healthy individuals successfully.

Mtech Project:

PHASE AMBIGUITY REMOVAL, BER MEASUREMENT AND CHARACTERIZATION OF BPSK DEMODULATOR FOR SATELLITE COMMANDING:

In this project, a technique for resolving the phase-ambiguity in BPSK communication system is investigated in detail. Here, we deal with the designing of a transmitter which can send data of low rate from the ground station to satellite and receive the same at the satellite. The encoding and decoding is done to resolve the phase ambiguity problem in the Costas loop carrier recovery circuit of BPSK. Clock recovery is done for timing synchronization, for the receiver to process the data synchronously. Bit error rate (BER) between the transmitted and received sequence is also measured. Both the transmitter and the receiver have been implemented on hardware.

Published manuscript titled “Phase ambiguity removal, BER Measurement and Characterization of BPSK Demodulator for Satellite Commanding” at “International Conference on Current Innovations in Engineering and Technology” held at Coimbatore on 24th May, 2015.
