Primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of a remote Human Resources office for a startup company. Strategic responsibility includes the design and implementation companywide of a recruitment and talent acquisition process. Determined staffing levels company wide, including my 10 states of responsibility. Hired and trained a staff of 13 to date, the majority of which are remote workers. Responsible for the implementation and training of a new CRM program as well as the management of the company’s e-recruitment processes. IKEA 2007 – 2011

Primary responsibilities included overall HR support for a location of approximately 350 exempt and nonexempt employees. Manage recruitment function for 150 new hires annually including identification of skills needed for successful candidates, active recruitment of potential employees, direction of screening and interview process and the conducting of background investigations. Responsible for coordination of location's training schedule as well as facilitating all general education classes. Conducted internal investigations on a variety of complaints from simple policy violations to claims of discrimination and harassment. Accomplishments include:

As the Lead Trainer for the U.S., responsible for updating and certifying facilitators for the IKEA new hire orientation process

Worked within a 4 month time frame to create and implement a full cycle recruitment program used to open the IKEA location in Orlando. Narrowed 10,000 applicants to the final 325 employees. Two years after the location opened there was a 90% retention rate of employees at that location.

Working on a national project to reduce turnover of employees in the first year of employment, designed and implemented at onboarding process for the US locations that resulted in an overall reduction of turnover of 150%.

Was invited to assist 5 additional IKEA locations with their opening process to attempt to recreate the hiring successes of the Orlando location.

Created the “IKEA Gets Fit” 2009 program.

Circuit City 2005 - 2007

Responsible for the daily operations of a stand-alone HR office for a regional distribution center.
