Agronomist

My professional background and training has led me to develop multidisciplinary expertise in the field of

environmental sciences and remote sensing (GIS applications).

In particular, I deal with the physical surface of the atmosphere, the exploitation of water resources in terms of its use

in agriculture and landslide modeling.

2014 Free lance Agronomist for the Susa Valley Mountain Community (local administration).

2010- 2013 - PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Forestry, and Food with a thesis entitled " Monitoring and estimation

of water flows in the environment".

Projects:

Development of "Guidelines for the assessment of seepage losses from irrigation

canals"(Ass.Agricoltura, Piemonte, Italy)

PRIN " Experimental measurement of the processes of soil -vegetation- atmosphere interaction and

numerical modeling of their response to climate change. " (Member of the research group of prof. Stefano

Mapping at the regional scale of the risk of drought and desertification ( Ass.Ambiente Piemonte, Italy) .

Duties:

Maintenance of the experimental site of Grugliasco ( weather station and automated system for monitoring

the soil water content ) .

Interface with foreign firms (Campbell Scientific, Licor etc. ) for the purchase of scientific equipment and to

solve problems resulting from their installation (troubleshooting, maintenance and methods of data

Installation in situ of the micro-meteorological Eddy Covariance station in two experimental sites . Trouble

shooting for issues related to the station.

Planning, designing and implementing campaigns of measurements in the field.

Preparation of proposals for funding both at national and European level.

Analysis of prices in order to maximize the utility of the available budget for various projects .

Writing papers for international journals and production of scientific papers of secondary importance (poster

and conference presentations ).

2012 Formative Period at EFLUM ( LABORATORY OF ENVIRONMENTAL FLUID MECHANICS AND HYDROLOGY)

at EPFL ( Ecole Polytechnique Federale ) in Lausanne (Switzerland ), managed by Prof. Marc Parlange

Duties:

Installation and maintenance of scientific instruments in the experimental site of the Val Ferret.

Analysis of data from the experimental site .

Numerical modeling of the energy phenomena within the snowpack.

Presentation of the results obtained using presentations or poster.

2008-2009 Production of a plan for the use of a multifunctional meadow - pastureland area of the municipality of

Ayas (Aosta, Italy ) .

Duties:

Creation of guidelines and a pastoral map in order to allow a more efficient management of the grazing

herds .

Proposals to enhance the landscape value of the area (containment of invasive weeds, creating naturalistic

hiking trails ) .

Enhancement of local milk production for the production of the fontina cheese.

2000-2013 Management of a chestnut orchard ( Variety Brown)

Ordinary maintenance (watering, mowing and harvesting of the fruit) .

Extraordinary operations to cope with emerging phytosanitary issues ( fertilizing, pruning diseased plants

landslide in the township of Gros ( Bussoleno - To) and modeling of slope processes ." Faculty of Agriculture,

2003-2006 Bachelor's Degree in Soil and Forest Maintenance with the final report "Environmental

evaluation in the castle Borello (Bussoleno, Italy )”.
