Member of a joint venture program between General Motors and Toyota to reengineer the domestic Chevrolet Cavalier into a right-hand drive vehicle Toyota Cavalier for the Japanese market. Served as the Manufacturing Manager of the project core team. Provided successful project management, from planning, coordination, bi-weekly teleconferencing with all sites, and weekly onsite visits to maintaining schedule and achieving JMOT compliance.

Staff Project Engineer (Lansing Automotive Division)

Coordinated with the team that ensured product compliance with Japanese regulatory, safety, and emissions requirements in order to gain entry into the Japanese market.

Received high product acceptance in Japan due to innovative design and build.

Spearheaded the build of the Toyota and Chevrolet Cavaliers in sequence and on the same line (a first).

Coordinated in the design of the first six-minute, zero-load, snap acceleration “Inertia Fastest” production. Served on the GM Corporate Engine Test Committee; held chairman position with the Romulus (Plant) Engine Test Committee.

Redford Plant: Assisted the new engine (heavy-duty, 2-cycle engines) paint system, from process startup and upgrade to final process trim and shipping. Supported the development of a remote assembly and test facility (modification center) to retest and modify products for resale in the North American market, originally imported from Brazil. Improved and ensured engine quality and participated in warehouse consolidation projects.
