extensive review on each file/ account to determine if correct payments were made to the patient’s insurance
company along with review revenue codes, diagnosis and procedure codes to determine audit candidacy. Also,
review provider contracts/fee schedules, etc. to determine correct payment methodology and then accurately re-
price claims accordingly. Once file is reviewed and correctly processed, all audit findings must be documented.
Auditors must also evaluate current procedures for efficiency and accuracy and recommend solutions for process
