Industrial Systems Technology – Double Major

While attended RCC the past few years I have learned about residential/ industrial wiring applications using receptacles, switches, fixtures, 3-

way switches, single and three phase motors, motor forward/reverse starter controls; PLC logic boards and industrial panels, with push buttons and

selector switches. I have troubleshooted digital circuits: op amps, transistors, resistors, capacitors and have constructed small projects with these items;

and even made our own AM/FM radio. I wrote PLC logic programs, linking up with Allan Bradley/ Siemens software and programmed a small robot to

simulate a product conveyor and industrial environment.

I had a semester on manual lathe turning, to turn special projects and manual milling with the Prototrack and Acu-Rite mill systems. I also had

an advance HAAS CNC programming course involving the use of MasterCam, Solidworks, AutoCad software and producing G & M codes also for the

HAAS milling machines. We drew many mechanical 2D and 3D project parts using these software programs and milled out the product; two different

aluminum clocks, for example. I also had a hydraulics and pneumatics class where we built a PLC controlled soda can crusher, along with industrial

maintenance and safety procedures. I also learned basic MIG wire welding and SMAW flux welding.

* Diesel mechanic/ Technician. Perform service on diesel Tractor trucks, buses, etc. Change oil, oil filters, fuel

filters, water filters. Perform DOT inspections. Diagnose problems with laptop and software, clear faults, look up and

perform recalls. Replaced radiators and transmission swaps, drivelines and U-joints, etc.
