Senior Multimedia Designer
Led all digital and print media design efforts, including design and programming of the NREC and Robotics Academy web sites. Script-
ed, produced and edited most NREC and many RA videos. Designed and produced many print materials.
• Created a new design for (all 1000 + pages of) NREC site, and transitioned instantly from old to new site without a single identifed
error or moment of downtime.
• Web Developer and SEO specialist for the RA web site, which acheived a #1 Google ranking for 2/3 targeted key phrases.
• A video I scripted, produced and edited was nominated for Best Video by AAAI (Association for the Advancement of Artificial
Intelligence).
• Brainstormed and led the effort to introduce CMU Human Computer Interaction Institute students, and user-centered design
iterative process, to Robotics Academy product development.
• Helped create partnership of RA with LEGO, the world’s largest educational manufacturer.
• Project manager for two products featured in LEGO Education catalog.
• Managed the project of translating a piece of the RA/LEGO Robotics Curriculum into 9 languages.
• Edited the photograph used as Time magazine’s two page centerfold in Time’s robotics issue.
• CNN among others featured my graphic design on their site.
• Created a video that was the principal part of the proposal which eventually resulted in NREC’s first multimillion dollar award.
• Principal multimedia producer for NREC as it grew from <30 to ~200 employees.
• Robotics Academy webmaster, project manager, UX designer and videographer in a period when it grew from 3 to 10 employees.
Archaeologist 1983 - 1998
Excavated and field managed for various archaeological companies.
• Excavated on the African Cemetary site on Broadway in Manhattan, now a national historic monument.
