WORK EXPERIENCE
Service Technician/Valve Technician
Cameron Surface Solutions - Minot, ND - April 2014 to March 2015
Responsibilities
As a Service Tech we had several roles within the company. Depending on the job that we were assigned we
could be doing simple assignments such as frac support insuring that valves were functioning properly for our
customers in between their fraccing and wireline process, greasing and torqueing the valves connections to
industry regulated specs and then other times we could be nippling up BOP's to casing heads so that drilling
rigs could start drilling for oil.
Accomplishments
During my time as a full time employee with Cameron I was able attain several certifications to allow me to
better accomplish my job and to have access to certain job assignments that I wouldn't be able to otherwise.
I was certified in the following: BFSI Level 1 (Service Tech school which is a 2 week long training program
that prepares a service tech for work in the oilfield), Man Basket Certified, Fall Protection Certified, Hydrogen
Sulfide Awareness, Rigger Safety Training, Global Harmonization, Confined Space, LOTO, NSC First Aid,
NSC CPR, Falck First Aid training, Falck CPR training, PEC Safeland, and PEC Safegulf.
I have also completed the safety orientation for Conoco, Enerplus, Oxy USA Inc, and Cameron Surface
Solutions
All of these certifications may be presented upon request.
Skills Used
Using the skills attained from the certifications that I listed above I can use man lifts, installing Back Pressure
Valves, 2-way Checks for testing, using dry-rod lubricators to do the previous mentioned, I can repair valves
on site without disconnecting them from location, use torque wrenches, auto cranes, and apply my safety
training to work in the hazardous environments of the oil fields in the harshest weather sometimes being as
cold as -50 or greater!
Valve Technician
Elwood Staffing (Cameron Surface Solutions) - Minot, ND - October 2013 to April 2014
Responsibilities
I was responsible for disassembling, and reassembling, testing, greasing, and quality control for wellhead
valves depending on which department they needed me. I have been trained extensively by Cameron Surface
Solutions in all aspects of their wellhead products and to help the company to continue to dominate the
Wellhead industry.
Accomplishments
I worked as a temp until later being hired as a full-time employee because of my knowledge of wellhead valves
and for my ability to pass the knowledge onto other employees. The flexibility of being able to work in any
department that I was needed to work in also attributed me as an asset to the company.
Skills Used
Rental Department I displayed my ability to tear a valve down quickly and efficiently and to rebuild valves that
have been approved by our QC department to spec and to sign the legal documents certifying that this was
completed properly by me.
Testing Department I tested valves with the capacity to regulate up to 5,000 and to 10,000 psi, testing their
high and low range for 3 minutes at a time and to always maintain a safe atmosphere while trouble shooting
when the tests would fail.
Quality Control I measured valves that have been retrieved from the oil field with calipers of various types to
determine if the valves were within spec to be rebuilt or to be set aside for disposal.
Grease Department I had to use a high grade grease and inject into the body lubes so that water from testing
would be pushed out of the valves so that they will not freeze in harsh environments and that the remaining
grease would insure that the valve would be well lubricated.
