EHS Manager – I have provided total support with EHS Programs at different sites for the following clients: a Printing Facility, a Cardboard Manufacturing, an Agricultural company and a Horse Racetrack facility. My responsibilities are:

Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.

Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials and collect samples of them for analysis.

Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs.

Investigate accidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.

Managing work team, which includes several technical and administrative level positions.

Participation in budget preparation and tracking, establishing and monitoring progress toward department goals.

Managing environmental processes within US operations to assure proper waste management and minimization practices in accordance with RCRA and TSCA regulatory requirements.

Safety Programs

Performed inspections at Government Water System’s Vulnerability Assessment (VA). The VA work was performed according to the requirements of the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act. It included a detailed inspection of the water sources, storage tanks, unit operations, and water distribution system.

Conducted air sampling to assess Pharmaceutical, Port Authority and Printing Facility’s employee exposure to dust and gases. Tasks completed included pumps calibration, execution of personnel and area sampling, and pumps post calibration.

Project Manager of the assessment of the health systems of 50 municipalities in an eight-month period for the Puerto Rico Department of Health. Supervised personnel’s tasks. Developed assessment reports with findings and recommendations in order to improve health system’s infrastructure. Coordinated, prepared, and provided trainings to the team members.

Management Systems & Compliance Support

Environmental Engineer for a UIC project that entails working with underground injection control systems (i.e. septic tanks) located at Esso service stations throughout Puerto Rico. A total of 124 UIC’s are being considered within the program. The purpose of the project is to ensure that the septic systems are in compliance with Puerto Rico’s environmental requirements. Project activities include site visits, preparation of plans, permitting, sampling, and coordination of the project activities. She has been the Project Manager for this project for three years.

In charge to lead completion of state, federal and other environmental permits, plans and reports for different clients, including represent the client at the agencies offices.

Preparation of the Notice of Intent (NOI) for the Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) for EPA and develop SWPPP for different sectors applicable for the MSGP permit.

Reviewed and supported the implementation of Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and Oil and Gas Facilities EMS, Action Plan in order to conform to the new version of the international ISO 14001 standard and corporate guidelines.

Environmental Inspector for the construction at the Expansion of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in Ecoelectrica.

Prepare a Construction General Permits (CGP) for EPA and develop the SWPPP for construction activities.

Assist the several manufacturing facilities to effectively obtain compliance with Federal and State storm water regulations.

Risk Management

Executed and documented IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols for facilities, air handling units, water purification, compressed air, environmental monitoring of clean rooms in walk-in freezers and temperature/relative humidity mapping of finished product warehouses for a new Class 3 medical device manufacturing facility.

Developed and implemented Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA) Risk Management Plans (RMP) and collaborated with the revision of the Process Safety Program and Risk Management Plan documentation for wastewater treatment and potable water filtrations plants of PRASA.

Air Quality & Noise

Air permits calculation using AP-42 and material balance also preparation, modification and new one Operation Air Permit at several manufacturing facilities.

Managed project for preparation of the protocols, field coordination and final reports for Visible Emission Evaluations (Opacity Readings) for compliance with the EQB Air permit using EPA Method 9.

Impact Assessment & Planning

Support in the preparation in several environmental impact statements (EIS) for EQB compliance.

Collaboration in the preparation of the environmental assessment of the Food and Drink Facility’s New Distillation Column
