Electrical Field Consultant for the Denver Office of Zachry Electrical Design Group – Louisville Gas & Electric Mill Creek Station AQCS Project, Louisville, KY. Work included the demolition and replacement of all four units Wet Scrubbers and the addition of Generator Circuit Breakers and Main Aux. Transformers. Researched, identified and documented the majority of all existing above ground and underground power, control and instrumentation circuits to be isolated in the demolition zones. Designed re-routed circuits necessary to remain in service during construction. Determined correct Arc Flash Label installation locations. Researched and determined appropriate 480VAC, 208/120VAC and 125VDC power sources from existing equipment to power Generator Breakers and MAT’s power requirements. Worked with LG&E personnel in LOTO, troubleshooting and engineering activities to support construction. Reviewed Electrical Field Memo details for inclusion in Circuit Schedule updates.

Transformer, Powell Industries 4.16KV Switchgear Buildings and additions to existing Limestone Prep, Dewatering and Gypsum Storage Buildings. Fall 2011 Outage work consisted of complete replacement of 15 Absorber Recycle and Quench Pumps/Motors, mixers, agitators, replacement of 1000MCM 5KV feeders, installation of redundant 1000MCM 5KV feeders, extensive 5KV switchgear modifications, two new 2000hp Oxidation Air Compressors and DCS/PLC Instrumentation and Control systems for all new and updated equipment. Project was a design collaboration between Babcock & Wilcox and Black & Veatch. Provided Electrical Construction Oversight and QA/QC as part of a team representing IP&L best interests. Coordinated activities between IP&L Plant Engineers, Relay Group, Transmission and Distribution Group, I & C Managers, Control Rooms and Operators. Inspected work in progress for compliance with drawings, specifications and IP&L requirements. Resolved installation issues on site wherever possible or with the assistance of the Engineers. Inspected work-in-progress and completed electrical work for QA/QC, Specification and Contract Drawing compliance, verified and/or corrected cable termination information, documented non-conformance issues, reviewed and approved Turnover Packages. Participated in Building Turnover Punchlist Walkdowns, formulated my own lists of electrical issues such as missing, non-working or damaged light fixtures and verified Punchlist Item completions. Served as the Electrical Station Point of Contact (SPOC) for Low NOx burner replacements, DCS Upgrades (Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control), Overfire Air, Steam Sootblower and Water Cannon Installations, High Energy Piping Inspection, Condenser Retube, Air Heater Basket Replacement, Mill Motor Rebuild, Temporary Power, Phone, Data and 4160V Remote Racking. Recovered eight months of schedule slippage to finish only one month beyond the original completion date for the URS/Advatech/MHI Scrubber. Project also included fast-track construction of a Sodium Bisulfate and Sodium Sulfite (SBS) Injection System for Unit 7, completed in three months.

Inspected all electrical construction performed by four electrical contractors for compliance with drawings, specifications, schedule and startup requirements. Scheduled, coordinated, supervised, punchlisted and interfaced with several IP&L divisions. Investigated and resolved electrical field interferences and installation questions. Represented IP&L at all coordination meetings held by the Construction Manager. Observed, documented and photographed construction progress of all subcontractors and trades.
