Work experience
# 1
Worked as Teaching Assistant for 15 months [Feb 2012 - May 2013] in - The
Department of Nanoscience, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and
Research Center, AIMS Kochi, Kerala
In this role, I was working in a project titled "Evaluation of a biohybrid
artificial pancreas for the reversal of diabetes in a chemically induced
diabetic animal model " . I was required to make a nanoporous semipermeable
membrane (by using different techniques) which could be employed in
pancreatic islet cell transplantation, thereby eliminating the need for
immune suppressive drugs.
Techniques learnt : Electrospinning, Protein diffusion studies,
Anodization, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermal
gravitometric analysis and Differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), SEM,
cell culture (handled L929 mouse fibroblast cell line and MiaPaca
pancreatic cancer cell line for cytotoxicity studies; isolated pancreatic
islet cells from rat), contact angle measurements for testing
hydrophilicity and tensile strength measurement of polymeric scaffolds.
# 2
Worked in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as Assistant Systems
Engineer - Trainee (2008 - 2009). In this role, I was trained in s/w
coding using powerbuilder and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
