IT Department

March 2015 – May 2015: I most recently worked at the help desk in the IT department of the Weatherford College (WC) campus. I provided customer service and IT support to the staff and students of the college. Tasks I was responsible for included those such as password resolution, resolving connectivity issues, and troubleshooting computers (both Mac and PC). I also resolved driver issues at the IT Help desk. I also resolved copier and AV equipment issues by providing on the spot solutions or submitting information to the servicing organization for the equipment. I also worked on inventory management for the campus’s systems. For systems management I utilized Dell’s KASE 1000 system for updating programs and providing security on the network as well as submitting work tickets.

June 2014-Sep 2014: During my summer break from school, I worked for the Decatur, TX Lowes as a CSR in the Seasonal department. I was responsible for providing great customer service, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and advising customers on their projects of techniques for getting their projects done or recommending products. I stocked shelves with product, organized top stock and utilized equipment to store products in racking, I received accolades from staff and customers on the services that I provided.

Jan 1998- August 2013: During my Army career, I served in various positions of responsibility culminating with this position. In this position, I supervised 2 junior leaders, and 6 personnel in the daily operations supporting an attack reconnaissance helicopter battalion. My duties consisted of ensuring quality surveillance measures were taking place and ensuring that safety was a top consideration with every task. I supervised receiving and issuing operations and was responsible for running operations during either day or night, many times opposite of senior leadership. I was responsible for tracking daily quantities of product, issued, received and on hand balances. I taught newly arriving personnel what was expected of them in their daily duties, and ensured concurrent training took place to keep personnel trained in their duties, and counseled my junior leaders on their job performance. Consequently I am a Veteran of Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Desert Storm.

SKILLS:

I have numerous people skills acquired while conducting operations in many different countries while I was in the military. I know how to deal with customers as I have done a few jobs in the customer services field. I am very knowledgeable with many different types of software including MS Office, and Redhat. I am also familiar with conducting operations utilizing Server 2008. I have extensively used both Windows 7 and 8, and am also familiar with Mac’s Lion OS. I have worked with both PC and Mac systems and am working on becoming A+ certified. I am also familiar with many other types of software such as Gimp, FTP and Photoshop, and Paint. I am a motivated self-starter and am looking for a place that I can call home. At Weatherford College I learned troubleshooting skills and gained more vital experiences with computers. I am eager to put these skills to use. I look forward to the challenges of learning more and putting my skills to use with your company.
