Plant Controller – Holland OH Battery (680 employees) 10/2013 3/2015

Site maintains two product lines and is primary JCI Tier 1 OE manufacturing location. Managed financial processes as part of overall

plant turnaround effort at time of significant change and management turnover. Primary focus on improving accuracy of financial

reporting, eliminating reporting issues identified in internal audit prior to hiring. Supervised staff of 7. Utilized Oracle, JD Edwards,

• Developed real time reporting to monitor variable spend vs. volume to better calibrate end of month performance.

Plant Controller – Salina KS (700 employees) 3/2012 10/2013

Led all accounting activities for site, supporting management during a period of intense growth, consolidating operations from a second

site to Salina, integrating Tier 1 OE battery production at site, resulting in many new employees, processes, and products. Supervised

staff of 5. Utilized Oracle, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office applications.

Accomplishments:

• Reconstructed reporting procedures to address concerns about accuracy and timeliness.

• Developed new forecasting tools to better anticipate spend and absorption.

NetApp / LSI – Sunnyvale CA

LSI was a diversified electronics company, developing storage systems and specialized computer chips. NetApp is the largest data storage device

maker in the US. NetApp acquired LSI’s storage device business in September 2011. Wichita operations were responsible for RAID data storage

equipment design and assembly, selling through multiple OEM’s including IBM.

Operations Accounting Manager – Wichita KS 6/2005–3/2012

Directed budgeting, reporting, and forecast functions for Operations Management group. Worked on site with contract manufacturer in

Guadalajara Mexico, playing key role in implementing and troubleshooting issues with inventory, costing, and product movements.

Oversaw and approved billing received from Contract Manufacturer. Developed Operations Accounting function at LSI, hiring 80% of

staff externally to form group. Utilized Oracle (3yrs.), SAP (4 yrs.), SAP BPC consolidation module, and Microsoft Office applications.

Accomplishments:

• Implemented BPC automated reporting and forecasting module, improving reporting cycle time by average of four days.

• Developed reporting of adverse cost expenditures by root cause and driver which served as baseline for improvement

efforts.

to OE customers including CNH, Caterpillar, and John Deere.

Plant Controller – Hutchinson, KS 9/2000–6/2005

Managed daily accounting functions for hydraulic pump manufacturing facility, including A/P, Payroll, Cost Accounting, and General

Ledger functions. Supervised staff of three, facility employed 461 employees. Utilized Oracle, company proprietary forecasting and

scorecard software, along with Microsoft Office applications.

Accomplishments:

• Restructured department functions through staffing cutbacks, maintaining and improving key reporting while staffing reduced

50%.

• Implemented new reporting focused on weekly operational results and trends.

• Provided analytical support to plant restructuring effort which resulted in 41% reduction in breakeven point over three year

period along with doubling of cash flow return on net operating capital.

• Served as champion of Eaton Business Excellence Award (EBEA) Category 7 (Financial / Operations Metrics) for three

assessments, developing presentation format and charts, and coordinating presentations with other Category Champions.

bankruptcy in 2001, selling all assets 2002 2004. Wichita and Monmouth were meat processing plants.

Plant Controller – Wichita KS (1999 2000)

Responsible for plant accounting functions including A/P, truck billing, cost accounting, and payroll. Supervised staff of seven; facility

employed 550 employees. Utilized BPC and SAP software along with Microsoft Office applications.

• Managed implementation of plant floor Automated Data Collection project, including training of floor personnel, development

of supporting data files and documentation, and interface with programming staff.

• Led implementation effort for SAP enterprise accounting system at facility, including interface of ADC data to SAP,
