Charge Nurse- in a Forensic male 56 bed unit offering mental health services to patients whom are guilty but not guilty by reason of insanity PC 1370. Responsible for the safety of patients, staff and property during my 12 hr shift. Delegated all LPT and RN assignments, assure that all Policies and Procedure are being followed.

Crisis Intervention when needed using good judgement. Supervise staff performance during the shift including making sure all MD orders are noted and carried out, evaluate medication errors and take appropriate action.

Schedule all patient appointments to clinics as well as out of the facility appointments as well as arrange transportation by Hospital Police Van with an LPT to accompany patient as escort.

Maintain inventory, train new staff and assign them a pre-ceptor. Attend all Individualized Treatment Plans. Shift report given and received,documentation, lead unit searches for contraband, receive supervision, interpret in Spanish for patients and Treatment Team members.

Worked under the supervision of my Senior Psychiatric Technician, lead therapeutic groups, noted and carried out all MD orders, vital signs, blood sugar test using accu-check machine, used suction machine, tube feeding,administered oxygen, administered oral and IM medication, 1:1 supervision and documentation per MD orders, patients rounds and supervision during the shift.
