I came from a career of 21 years of Law Enforcement. Put myself through a
home school for Medical Claims and Billing Course. Since my first job in
the Medical field I have expanded my knowledge of from putting what
learned from the instructional book to actually applying it in a Medical
Setting.

I started as a Data Entry Specialist entering Rounds and Discharges,
quickly moving to the position of Collections Specialists in a 3 months time
where I held this position for 1 year. In this position I handled patient
accounts, appeal follow ups, denials, patient letters, collection notices and
handle all calls that came into the billing department.
In a years time, I was moved up to the position of Inpatient Biller for the
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Hospital. I billed all Commerical,
Medicaids, Medicare, followed up on payments, denials and the starting of
the appeal process. I billed secondaries and supplements including
Medicare. I used the Pro32 DDE, TIER and the AS400. I handled
bankruptcies, ACCU check billing and HCRA's for Lake County and the
WIN program, along with Trust Accounts and contacting the clinics for
payments.

I was a Collections Specialists for this Oncologist and Hematologist
Doctors Office, having the opportunity to work with aging reports, patient
accounts, Medical records, Insurance companies. Also worked as an
assistant to the Doctor for Bone Marrow procedures and a receptionist
when needed scheduling patients, taking co pays and deductibles and
answering phones.

I retired in good standing of 21 years from the Palm Beach County Sheriff
Office. There I accomplished many achievements and greatful for the time
that
I spent there. I left because I felt it was time for me to move closer to my
family
here in Lake County, Florida and to start a new chapter in my life.
